Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Many visitors to Yellowstone from the north make a beeline for the apparent springs and are disappointed that’s all they can see. The more curious ones purchase a map and see where the boardwalks lead to other active areas but also alongside many historic areas of travertine deposit. But those who take advantage of the visitor center not only learn where the most active areas are, they also learn the area has constantly been changing for a long time. It’s not less active than 50 years ago, just constantly evolving.
The unexpected joy is discovery of unimagined museum displays lending context to the park at large.
Visiting here can get your holiday off to a more informed start.

This Visitor center is amazing, it's so educational inside with old photographs and animal information. I loved it.
Clean restrooms and friendly and helpful Park Rangers.
There is a herd of Elk with a large male that hang out across from the visitor center. The Rangers are out to help with traffic control as they mentioned he sometimes with attack a vehicle.
This is a fabulous stop, hang out for awhile and don't rush through this small town.

We went to the visitor's center at the north entrance and were SO taken away by the setting, the interior and the museum inside. You MUST visit this site, even if you have already been in other YNP visitor's center.

This location is at the center of what WAS Fort Yellowstone. It is amazing to drive by all of the buildings that are restored and make up this complex. The most intriguing is the Albright Visitor's Center. There is a deep stone porch across the front with seating. Inside is an information area, a gift store, exhibits, and rest rooms are located downstairs.

Take a minute to familiarize yourself with all that the building offers now and to take in the architecture which has been so well preserved. Thank you National Park Service.

Parking is available on street in the areas around the visitors center. Pedestrian crossings are very well marked and pedestrians are respected. We saw a lot of elk here one evening. They were liking to lounge on the green lawns! That was an extra perk. Rangers were stationed nearby for protection of both animals and humans.

This newly remodeled center is excellent and a great first stop for those entering through the north entrance. The park rangers were very helpful with our questions. There are a lot of interactive exhibits as well.

For those who collect NPS Passport Stamps, there are a few located in the bookstore in this building.

Has a nice overview of the region and animals. Also has bathrooms. Good luck finding parking if you're here later than 7a.

This is the central building in the first major stop coming from the north entrance into Yellowstone. It was originally an officer’s quarters – and an old stone building. Now it is an excellent source of information about Yellowstone including the surrounding old fort (which was the center of activity 100 years ago). You’ll recognize the building by the stone construction, large porch, and location on the corner. Inside is an information area, a gift store, exhibits, with rest rooms downstairs.

The Park Rangers operating the desk are very helpful. In addition, there are monitors near the desk that provide details of the camp sites, traffic and nearby lodgings. Included in all this is regular education on how far away you need to stay from the animals for safety.

At the time of year we went (late May) there were a dozen elk on the lawns outside the area!

Perfect way to start your trip into the park if coming from the north.

As I was leaving the park, I decided to swing in the Albright Visitors Center. I started off by using their very clean bathrooms, then walked through the little exhibit they had. Finally, I went into the store and found something I missed buying at Old Faithful’s visitors center. Great place to either start or end your visit to Yellowstone.
