Very Colorful
Jul. 2021
This is a very colorful pool on the far side of the Upper Geyser Basin. If you are walking from Old Faithful, it is basically the last thing you can see in this area. It is about 4 miles round trip from the visitor center and back though.

Lovely thermal pool
Sep. 2020 • Couples
We thoroughly enjoyed the 1.25 mile walk from Old Faithful to Morning Glory Pool. Along the way we saw six (6) geyser eruptions and many of the highlights of the Upper Geyser Basin. Morning Glory Pool was our destination and it delivers.

Please don’t use it as a wishing well. It’s a fragile thermal feature and coins, junk, etc. lower the pool’s temperature, plug the vent and promote the growth of the brown bacteria rather than the striking blue.

Great visual natural beauty
Sep. 2020 • Couples
We did the nearby trail and came up to this magnificent natural wonder... Yellowstone is amazing and full of great gems at every corner. My advice is yes go see some of the “highlights” but you see beauty everywhere.

Worth the Long Walk from Upper Geyser Basin
Sep. 2020
Yes, the Morning Glory Pool is all the way at the end of Upper Geyser Basin but trust me, it's worth the walk. Also, if you are going to walk to Biscuit Basin from Upper Geyser, you will pass by Morning Glory as well. Even if you don't want to Biscuit Basin, I recommend making the walk to Morning Glory. Avoid very early in the morning and wait til late morning or early afternoon when the mists burns off.

Most beautiful pool near Old Faithful
Aug. 2019
This is the most beautiful pool in the Old Faithful area. It is like Grand Prismatic Spring but on a smaller scale and you can get much closer to it. The colors are so vivid and it you stand at the corner of the railings, you can see down the funnel. Beautiful. If you've gotten this far on the trail, you've passed one of my favorite geysers, Riverside. There are also new restrooms near here. Great photo op. Enjoy! Just please don't use it as a wishing well so future generations can enjoy it.

Beautiful Colors
Sep. 2019
I walked thru the Upper Geyser basin from Old Faitful back to Morning Glory pool before heading back to the Old Faithful Inn. This has got beautiful vibrant colors. I heard that it is not as spectacular as it once was due to people throwing garbage and coins in it but it still looks nice.

Favorite Pool - Vivid Colors
Sep. 2019
This is my favorite pool. The colors are so vivid and the water is clear. It can be accessed while parked and visiting Old Faithful. It is a bit far down the hill/path from Old Faithful, almost to the end (more than a mile walk, then you have to walk back). There is a boardwalk walkway in front of it, if you squat down you can get a good photo with it in the background. The trail you take to get to this pool has many other features along the way to check out. Worth the trip!

Move to the left of the overlook to get "Morning Glory" effect
Sep. 2019
The Morning Glory pool, in my opinion, is second only to the Prismatic Pool in color and beauty (at ground level, the Morning Glory Pool actually wins...you have to hike to the overlook to get the full glory of the colors of Prismatic). Morning Glory Pool is located a short walk west of the Giant Geyser and Grotto Geyser.
While still a glorious beauty, the pool has apparently been degraded in the magnitude of its colors over the past few years due to the ignorance of people who throw objects and coins into the pool. These objects have disrupted the flow and temperature of the water thus altering the bacterial habitat (the bacteria are the source of the magnificent colors). For me, the Morning Glory Pool is a reminder to people of all ages, colors and nationalities to respect the natural beauty and wonder of Yellowstone (leave your superstitions and habits at home......i.e. coin tossing for luck).

Most beautiful pool in Yellowstone
Aug. 2019
Whilst the Grand Prismatic Pool gets all the attention, I thought that Morning Glory was far more splendid. The colours seem to be returning looking at old photos and the blue-green with the orange edge makes for astonishing photos. This pool was the truly wow moment for us in the Old Faithful area.
