Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful trail through the woods (saw the cutest ferret). All the rim overlooks are on top of the falls so this is a much nicer viewpoint. The falls are not close but you also get the beautiful canyon colors. If you have time, walk to and beyond Artist Pt toward Sublime (4-5 mi RT) for excellent canyon views!

So I'm searching local things to do around Charlotte nc and this popped up. Took 31 hours to get there. What a waste of gas and time.

Quite a long steep hike to get to the bottom of the brink if you're not physically active, you may want to pass, but if you're physically able to walk down the path it's definitely worth it. The magnitude of the falls and water rushing past totally amazed me, thinking of the power and beauty of this planet that we're lucky enough to call home.

A short walk from the parking area will bring you right to the brink of the upper falls, for an up close and personal view of the river. You can see and hear the power of the water as it rushes over the brink. If you're lucky, you may see a spectacular rainbow as well. The parking lot is large, but plan to arrive early or late, as the lot will be full during a large part of the day.

Because Uncle Tom's was closed, there was not way to get a good view of the Upper Falls, which are smaller than the Lower Falls (which are down river, hence the two names). Great area, a don't miss canyon to see in Yellowstone.

This is a gorgeous geologic feature. The Yellowstone River begins it's decent into the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Be sure to see the Lower Falls which are 3 times as high.

We loved seeing these heavenly falls, from both rims of the Grand Canyon. We also enjoyed seeing the Yellowstone course under the bridge and toward the falls. Wow! You've so often seen these falls as iconic symbols of Yellowstone that to actually see them up close is a true memorable event! Please be cautious though, adhere to the signage and wall controls. There's not much to stop you otherwise!

It's all part of a less known part of Yellowstone and less traveled than the western geyser area, called the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, with south and north rim just as the original one. The upper falls can be seen very close from both sides, but if you want to walk down to the closest point you can do that from the "brink of the upper falls" point, after a short but steep walk.
The view of gushing water is amazing and the overall view is really a combination between the Grand Canyon, Crater Lake and Yosemite all together. Read the rest of my review about the area in the "Grand Canyon of Yellowstone" page.

Beautiful! Get a view of this is you can. It is a wonderful scenic canyon in Yellowstone. There are several lookouts to see the Upper Falls.
