A beauty

The water is so clear and the shade of blue so vivid - just beautiful. Short easy walk from the car park and doesn't need much time to appreciate it.

There are two boardwalk trails here: a 1/4 mile and a 1/2 mile. The pools and springs here are beautiful. And, look for the famous "Fishing cone." Behind them all is Yellowstone Lake. This is a very nice and worthwhile stop to make.

Most people only hear and see the Upper geyser basin leaving this basin aside. this is a very short walk to see the geysers on the lake shore and the beautiful pools.

Spend some time exploring, but make sure you take time to see this geyser. It's a beautiful site and even better if there are no crowds.

A quick tour of this 15-minute location offers crystal clear basins of blue and turquoise water. We even viewed a few grazing elk in this area.

Upper geyser basin, with Old Faithful, the Castle Geyser and so many others, rightfully gets a lot of attention. But I love West Thumb just as much -- you're not going to see anything like Dragon's Mouth and the boiling mud anywhere else. Plus there has been a herd of bison hanging out both times I've visited.

The hot springs that make up West Thumb Geyser basin are just awe-inspiring and beautiful – surely they are one of the wonders of the natural world. The amazing colour and clarity of the almost turquoise water is just amazing. We spent a good two hours just gazing in wonder at the Abyss Pool and the Black Pool - which... More

Elk await you. Colors to astound, and there is not better place, save Storm Point, to enjoy the marvel of this grand lake. There is a great trail just across the street to climb up the hill for an overview of Planet Earth.
