Went to Old Faithful, then worked our way back up to Madison area. Stopping at all the pull-offs to see everything. Took us a full day.

Day 1 in yellowstone couldn't have been better after watching old faithful and getting on the boardwalk thereon. Committed to memory are morning glory pool and beaty pool for the sheer colors ...other features were grand geyser grotto geyser ...well literally everything that you see...More

We found the geysers to be the most interesting of whole park. Apart from the Old Faithful we were lucky to see both Daisy and the Grand Geyser which we found to be the best out of all.

Beautiful geysers and hot springs, reminds you of the power of mother nature and the fact that you're on a huge volcano

Another great spot to stop at along your travels. Nice colors and easy access for small hikes. Got to love the smells.

The Upper Geyser Basin, approximately two square miles in area, contains the largest concentration and nearly one-quarter of all of the geysers in the world. A variety of thermal features exist here: spouting geysers, colorful hot springs, and steaming fumaroles. If you looking for geysers'...More

The literal only problem one could have with this attraction is that it is essentially the same as the other geyser basins throughout the park. This is essentially a non problem as all of them are so magnificent and colorful and beautiful that one never...More

An other-worldly experience. The colors of the geysers are spectacular. Expect long lines for parking. If you don't mind a bit of a walk park roadside and walk your way in.

Besides seeing Old Faithful, which everyone knows is a "must-see" - you absolutely have to walk to the end of the boardwalk to see Morning Glory Pool! The colors are so vibrant, so unbelievable, you just stand there in awe of nature at it's finest!...More

How much time would it take to cover the boardwalk loop thru Upper Geyser Basin? Not counting waiting for any geysers to erupt.

Hi Daniel: This is kind of a loaded question. That is if you are to go directly from Old Faithful up to the Morning Pool (near the end of the upper geyser basin) it is 1.5 miles. Depending on how often you stop, how fast... More

Summer is the busiest, that is when we were there, late June. I've also been there in early fall and that was very nice.
Where would be a great place to get a room for the week to visit these areas in Yellowstone? Any tips appreciated. Is Jackson Hole close enough to see all these great places in yellowstone .
