It takes at least 2 hours but it is worth it. You can really see and experience the battle. The introduction video is an excellent way to tell you what your going to see. The monuments and signs are outstanding.

Wish I'd had more time to explore this beautiful park. 16 mile drive was completed rather quickly in an hour. I would have loved to spend several more hours walking and reading more intensely. Saw some wildlife, took some beautiful pictures, and learned more about...More

The park is a 16 miles drive through the Union then Confederate battle lines. The still intact earth works and markers are almost un-nerving; in a positive way. You can get out and walk up and across the battle areas; getting a frightening feeling for...More

It is a most memorable experience to visit such a serene historic place. Visitors should take at least 1/2 a day to behold all it has to offer. The huge grounds are well kept out as well they should, out of respect for the lives...More

has a very good visitor center. Map for driving the battlefield is very informative. Monuments are outstanding and battle lines are well marked. Really enjoyed it.

It was very informative and very emotional. It let you see how close the combatants were to each other and how difficult the train was in terms of trying to traverse

We stayed at the Ameristar Casino RV park. Paved, mostly level sites, full hookups. Only a short drive to the park and downtown Vicksburg.
