The 310,000-sq.-ft. Royal Hawaiian Center sits on land once known as Helumoa, the home of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop in the 1870s and 1880s. It’s highlighted by the 33,000-square-foot Royal Grove, one of the largest open green spaces in Waikiki. Throughout the day, the event-friendly area showcases entertainment and cultural activities, including arts of Hawaiian quilting, lomilomi massage, ukulele playing, hula dancing, lei making and kapa cloth making. No worries if you’ve been at the beach and are covered with sand. That’s the case with most visitors!

While holidaying in Honolulu we walk past or into this complex nearly every day. The place is soo inviting , lovely garden area and the stage under that great tree with the big flowers is a bonus , there is entertainment there during the day every day I think. The shops are great and plenty of places to eat and... More

It is quite eye catching due to the lush garden in the center. Very nice landscaped. And of course they have their stage with some show going on to keep your attention. It's very interesting. Oh, they have their expensive shops and restaurants just waiting for you. You could pass on the shops and just stop by to see the... More

This was the best show we have seen in along time. Impersonators were excellent. They had Celine Dion Elvis and Michael Jackson. They were all really good. They also had a fire dancer he didn't make one mistake. Plus the hula dancers were very good as well.

We stopped at the Royal Hawaiian Center several times, once we had seen the number of specialty stores in the mall. It is a four floor multi-level and a 3 building mall, which contains over 310,000 sq. ft.and well over 110 stores. The restaurants range from typical mall food-court restaurants to high-end restaurants. There are a lot of designer stores... More

With this classic luxury hotel, one expects great service, especially for the prices. I called ahead to put an extra name on my reservation. My partner was not allowed in the room and was stuck in the lobby waiting for my delayed arrival until 1:30am. They did nothing to help him. Upon check-in, we watched all other guests be given... I really enjoyed this. You definitely need to turn up early (ie. more than half an hour) to get a seat, it fills up quickly and the teacher doesn't have enough supplies for extra attendees, also small children can't use the needles so check the age limit before you spend too much time waiting. We made beautiful leis from flowers... More

I visited this mall several times. There were lots of stores to browse. The mall was not big but cozy. There was also parks with some sort of stages that hold some hawaiian performances such as singing and dancing. The food court is lovely, with many food variety one can choose from hawaiian food, japanese food, mexican food, chinese food,... More

Lots of nice shops. A variety of prices, some very high and some low. Nice food court with lots of choices. As we were leaving I realized that we had barely scratched the surface as there were more shops across the street.

The Royal Hawaiian Center is right on the main strip and is a godsend for tourists. Not only is it filled with shops and restaurants, it offers free classes to the public. I was able to take a ukulele class, lomilomi massage and hula dancing. All were wonderful and gave me more of a connection to the local culture. HOWEVER,... More
