- LANDY31Brisbane, Australia457 contributionsTOO RICH FOR MEVery easy walk through. Sadly nearly all the shops were very high end and catering for the wealthy (not me!) There is a food court for cheap eats although the range is less than last time that we visited. Whether you forgot your sunscreen, wanna buy Hawaiian cookies for a gift or dying for some of the best sushi you’ve ever had… this is your place. The Hawaiian ice here is OK not the best but is decent.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 18 March 2024

However, there are a few shops here that sell only local artists creations. I would recommend going here for that reason alone! It is also a good spot to get traditional shave ice and admire the light decorated palm trees.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 April 2024

The top two levels, with lesser foot traffic, have some shops and several eateries ranging in type from food court style up to fine dining. The ground floor has a mixture of chain and specialty shops, but importantly also a concise range of the very high-end designer stores. This mall is an important part of the Waikiki experience, and it's also very convenient for people who are staying at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 May 2024

Stay away from the Tory Burch store at this location. the store manager Alana Yokoji is a terrible sales person.
We bought two bags in 3 days at this location. When the sales associate mentioned there is a discount available for the 2nd purchase. Alana was unwilling to help us, she claimed it was online only discount and they cannot apply the discount because we didn't provide email. How come a sales person constantly find excuses and blame the customer for not getting the best deal? And she also assumes it is the customers responsibility to provide emails for further promotion. this attitude pisses us off. Why would a customer buy anything from a sales that doesn't work for the customer's best interest?
I don't understand why such an incapable person will appear on the store manager position. this really ruins the brand image of Tory Burch.

The Royal Hawaiian Food Court is impeccably clean. In order to sit down and eat, you need proof of vaccination and/or negative Covid-19 test within the time period. The entire area is roped off.
Showed our vaccination card and received a SAFE ACCESS OAHU sticker to enter and exit. Two ladies were constantly wiping tables off. I watched them do the same table twice. All the food establishments were adhering to the Hawaiian Covid protocols.

The centre extends to 3 floors and comprises a real mix of retailers and restaurants. The restaurants vary from a food court including Subway and Panda Express thru The Cheesecake Factory to fine dining in Wolfgangs Steakhouse. So something for everyone. The retailers are mainly upmarket and include The Apple Store. It has lovely open spaces throughout and especially at the rear where it leads to The Sheraton. It is very central on the main road In Waikiki. Well worth a visit.

This is a very pretty indoor/outdoor mall. If the stores were not just a bunch of high end chain stores but local shops this would be a perfect place to visit, but unless you are planning to spend like a high-roller, you'll be window shopping. The food is a mix of chains (skip) and local places.
The neat thing which bumps this up from 3 to 4 is the cultural events calendar which include Hulu and Lei-Making classes.
It has pretty landscaping too.

Having been to Waikiki 3 previous visits, I was eager to go through the lobby of the Royal Hawiian because of it's history. The big lawn area filled with trees & flowers WAS always beautiful. It's now all been totally DESTROYED because corporate greed has taken over Waikiki. What used to be beautiful Polynesian is now nothing but "luxury" stores, concrete and glass. Unless you intend to spend thousands of dollars on high end product (which you can do right here on the continent without having a long flight to Oahu,) there's no reason to make the trip. And the Royal Hawaiian is "just another high priced hotel".

My friend and I found ourselves wandering down these sidewalks quite often since we were staying in a nearby hotel. The shops ranged from expensive boutiques to drug store type shops. The foliage was beautiful and the path eventually led to Waikiki beach. I loved that there were bars and restaurants in this area too. Every path led to a different adventure.

We visited the Royal Haiwaiian Center several times during our stay in Waikiki.
Its attached to the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, the second oldest luxury hotel in the area. Its not hard to miss as its coloured pink and next door to the oldest hotel in Waikiki which is the Westin Moana Surfrider.
The mall is a quiet expansive mall with lots of greenery surrounding.
We enjoyed a meal there at Noi Thai Restaurant

Has anyone access the schedule for free cultural activities? The page on the website doesn't seem to working/opening up? Most interested in Hawaiian quilt, Lei making, hula dancing/ukulele, bangle (can't remember the Hawaiian word). Thanks
And also does anyone know the days/times the Polynesian cultural center perform?

Hi 275jilly,
If you are coming from another country, then yes, but if you are coming from another State in the US, as mentioned in the other comments, you are OK. Hawaii uses the same standard voltage 110, as the continental States.

Our booking says the rates we have may not reflect all possible fees, additional charges or taxes. We booked through joie de vivre and are from Australia. Could you let us know what type of fees and charges and taxes are likely to be added? Do you have a daily amenity tax for instance?
Many thanks, Andrew
