Sad but a must for visitors
Apr. 2021
This memorial is naturally very sad to go through but a must. Probably easiest to do it towards the end of your visit when there are less crowds.

A very different, and thoughtful memorial for the men lost with the attack on Pearl Harbor on the USS Oklahoma
Dec. 2019
This is an interesting design for the USS Oklahoma Memorial, with individual white pillars for each man lost, with their names. As if each is a sailor in dress whites standing in place. A very good memorial walk among and consider the number of men lost.

A Solemn Occasion
Dec. 2019
We made a point of being there for a special ceremony on Dec.7, Pearl Harbor Day. Two admirals gave moving speeches. In attendance was a 96 year old survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor. At the end of the ceremony all were invited to lay an orchid at the memorial markers for the fallen.

Just a short walk from the Mighty Mo
Dec. 2019 • Couples
The infamous Might Mo is docked off beautiful Ford Island. Military ID required to go on island. Most folks arrive by tour bus. And, most folks head right to the MISSOURI. Tours give you hardly anytime on the sites. My suggestion is to visit the USS OKLAHOMA instead. With the 20-30 minutes you have, you will be able to see, read and appreciate the Memorial. My husband and I lived on Ford Island for 3 months of our 4 years on Oahu. We first visited on the 75th anniversary of PH. They had a remembrance ceremony that was very moving. Read the the plaques, view the pillars and just realize where you are. Let us never forget or take our freedom for granted. Please give me a Heads Up vote if my review has been helpful to you and yours. Proud to call Las Vegas HOME.

Here is a little piece of history that many people don't get to see or don't even know exists. Very interesting story about it from WWll. Most people learn about the big things in history and this is just one of those that sometimes get over looked.

Just glimpsed it on our tour, which wasn’t good enough and felt like an insult to the Oklahoma. Make time for staying at the memorial, absorbing it and giving it its due. USS Oklahoma’s story on December 7, 1941 is as unique and gripping as any on that momentous day.

A tribute to the USS Oklahoma
Nov. 2019
The USS Oklahoma lost 412 men at the attack of Pearl Harbor. This monument which is with walking distance of the USS Missouri is a tribute to these men who died that morning on 7 December 1941.

This is a great memorial and very poignant. Unfortunately, unless you are military you cannot stop and walk through the memorial.
