Wanted to do a whale watch trip and this was advertised as the one to do. Was very surprised with the number of whales we saw. Never being on a whale watch before, I kinda thought I would see them jumping out of the water. That's only in the movies. BUT, we did see a bunch of them porpoising and... More

Knowing that actually getting to see whales is not guaranteed, we went with the cheapest option. With a coupon (from one of the free tourist magazines), it was $60 (plus tax) for the early bird whale watching ride. We did not include breakfast. They did allow people to carry drinks and snacks on board. The boat was comfortable and did... More

Don and I wanted to find a special place to have dinner our last night in Honolulu this trip. So when we found out about the Star of Honolulu and its sunset dinner cruise, we decided that would be perfect. When we arrived at Pier 8 we were greeted by hula dancers and musicians, making us feel as if we... More

My daughter and I went on this cruise as it was our last night in Hawaii and we were looking forward to the dinner and fireworks. Just after the delicious buffett she was very seasick and we spent the cruise on the back of the ship. I'd like to thank the staff for all their help and concern with her... More

My wife and I decided this might be something worth exploring as an event to see the fireworks and a sight of Honolulu from the ocean side. We were not disappointed. The entertainment was excellent and very locally orientated. The food included a lobster each and well as a small steak later on - excellent. Hugely better food than Chief's... More

The Friday night sunset dinner cruise is really a good evening. The ship had three decks and three separate cruising options. If you just want the cruise and aren't concerned about the food go with the cheapest. We opted for the second tier because it was our anniversary and they offered steak and lobster and premium drinks. For this one... More

We went whale watching on the early trip. We saw Spinner dolphins and Humpback whales. The ride was pleasant and the trip was just the right length for our 9 year old granddaughter.

We took the early New Years dinner cruise and were treated to an excellent three course meal. The dancing was great with some audience participation (wife enjoyed the flirting from the muscular male dancer). It's not cheap but it's good fun.
