Looking for picnic tables in a shaded area in busy downtown Honolulu? Wanting to take photos by a waterfall but don't have time to visit Waimea Falls or Kauai? Hoping to see native plants without climbing in the mountains? This is an easily accessible park with a gently sloping paved path to a bridge and small waterfall. It's maybe a... More

Went on Saturday Feb 13 to shoot a video since I like to do spots that show off the island that would be enjoyable to both residents and visitors. Before going I read the different reviews and I have to concur with most of them. I was kind of disappointed. I love nature and this is an oasis from city... More

There are nice photo-ops here - a nice though small waterfall, a rocky stream, mature trees, and well-maintained lawns. But the city should downgrade this place to a neighborhood park. The garden’s specialty is native Hawaiian plants but there aren’t many of these plants and some of the native shrubs appear to be dying off. The garden is fairly narrow... More

Very dissappointed. The grounds are litered with debris, not much in the way of any garden. Few trees, and a quaint waterfall...thats it. May be free, but a total waste of time.

I used to love it for the parking in the shade and eating lunch on a hot day and the scenery but that was over 20 years ago. Now there is very little parking - only in a fenced off area on Kuakini street and that is tiny and locked up a lot. Forget street parking. Forget water fountains. Forget... More

Named for the former owner, Queen Lili'uokalani, this gem is tucked away within the City of Honolulu. Foster Botanical Garden is nearby, too. This garden has a waterfall, trees and open space in the city. While some complain about the trash and homeless, we saw neither when we visited with the grandkids. There were a few locals enjoying the day... More

You have to imagine when going to the place that once little Hawaiian children played in the beautiful waterfall. The park is located right in downtown honolulu ... downtown. You will always come across things you don't want to see at parks downtown. This park ends up being trashed by ignorant people and left trashed by even more ignorant people.... More

My husband and I were already in the area, having toured the Foster’s Botanical Garden. After seeing pictures of the beautiful Waikahalulu Waterfall and Nu’uanu Stream, we decided to take a walk in this free, public park with the lovely shade trees and picnic tables. Even before entering the grounds, the first sign of trouble was literately a permanent looking... More

Kid time we use to spend each summer day at the falls, a favorite swimming hole. I don't think you can now swim there though for fear of getting ill due to the polluted water. But don't let this scare you for here is a pristine garden in the heart of Downtown Honolulu.
