Dress comfortably and wear good shoes! It is quite a hike to the top and there are some really steep stairs. The views are well worth it and you will feel a sense of accomplishment when you have made it. There are plenty of places to step aside and rest on the way up if you need too...we did.

Diamond Head State Monument is a must see, if you're ever on Oahu. The hike is not for the faint of heart. My Aunt waited for us in the picnic area while we hiked to the top of the crater. We saw people of all ages hiking. Some had to take lots of breaks and others pressed on to the... More

Was more than what we expected! Truly a must when visiting Hawaii! Visited Hawaii with my husband and 2 teenage daughters and this was such a great walk to do together! All fitness levels will find this walk pleasant, it's not too strenuous. There is 2 tunnels and a steep staircase to climb but you won't regret it once you... More

A leisurely 1.5 hours return trip to the top of the crater, involving some challenging steps. A couple of tight tunnels and one very steep stairs to climb, other than these the walk is not to demanding. The views at the top is well worth the walk.

We climbed diamond head with a 6 month old in a baby carrier and found it very achievable. We were up and down within around 1.5 hours and really enjoyed it.

We took the bus. It is a bit of long walk from the bus stop to the beginning of the trail. Many people we saw thought this was part of the trail. Bathrooms are available by the ticket window. The views from the trail are beautiful! Tips: 1) Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and water bottle. Parts of the trail... More

I walked to the entry point from my hotel (only 30 mins) and arrived at 8.30am on a Sunday morning. There was an entry fee of $1 (more for cars) - cash only. It was already crowded. As an experienced hiker I found this trail easy. However, for those with less experience it is elevated the entire way on uneven... More

This is a semi-strenuous but very interesting hike with great views. I was surprised to find out it was a WWI era military site and the hike actually comes out in a bunker at the top. Very Cool.

This was our second time walking from Waikiki to the park and up the inside of the crater. Warning: Even walkers pay to enter - only $1 per person, but be prepared to pay. Walking into the park includes walking through a tunnel with cars and a very narrow pedestrian path. Cars are suppose to go 5 miles per hour,... More
