We really enjoyed our time at this site, and used it as a beginning spot for a hike on the Anza trail to check out the river nearby (water in Arizona is always a thrill). The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and the grounds...More

Enjoyed an hour doing the self guided tour. See the 20 min video first. Mexican woman was cooking her homemade tortillas on a wood fire. She served them with her beans and salsa. Yum The mission has a long and harsh history. Attacked regularly by...More

A burst of history from "the other side" of the US (my wife and I live on the East Coast); a site that is simple, quiet, informative, and beautiful in its preservation and architecture. It's so easy to feel "connection" with those who lived here...More

Small but interesting museum, a preserved but not restored chapel. Beautiful setting. From here it's possible to hike down to the river or along the Anza trail.

If you are a history lover? Then come to this old national historical treasure. You can go inside the church that was built by Indians of the area hundreds of years earlier. There is a book shop and volunteers who intimately know the historical details...More

This national park is not too far from Tucson. The entire property is very well preserved, and well worth the $5 per person. The church is just a ruin these days, but if you close your eyes and use your imagination, you can recreate how...More

We took our 3 boys to earn their Junior Ranger Badge for this park. Although we have lived in Tucson for over 10 years, this was our first trip. We all loved it! The museum that shows a recreation of the mission as it was...More
