We checked the Old Stone Mill after visiting the Redwood Library. It’s located in a very neat park across the Art Museum. The structure is beautiful. It’s a good area to relax or to walk your dogs.

This mill is set in a small but attractive park at the top of the hill above the harbor area in downtown Newport. This is one of several historic sites in Newport that have nothing to do with the mansions but are very interesting in...More

Thought to be both a horologium - a time keeping structure - and the oldest standing structure in Rhode Island, this tower is a unique and mysterious find in Touro Park. Unfortunately, its true origin is not definitively known; and, there are no information plaques...More

Some think this is a folly but it’s highly significant. In the middle of a beautiful well maintained green.

The Old Stone Mill is an interesting structure. Residents are not quite sure exactly what was the purpose of the "mill." One may see the mill when strolling through the park.

Depending on where you are staying in Newport, you may pass right by this on your way down to the Wharf or Thames St. Wouldn't say it's a must see; however, fun if you stumble on it.

Easy walk from anywhere in Newport and kinda cool to see. Not worth going out of your way for, but worth a walk if you're in the area - especially if you have dogs.
