Terrific place. Multiple floors for exploration. Kids are able to see so many different types of fish and other mammals while the adults lean some cool factoid. We spent about two hours there and felt we would have enjoyed more time without getting board. There is parking garage adjacent to the aquarium. There is a neat touch and feel area... More

We agree with you - there is a lot for both kids and adults to enjoy and learn. And, since all the critters there come directly from our local waters, the Center is one of our... More

There is a good mix of local creatures. This place is best for little ones as this isn't a big place but we had fun and it supports a good cause with Save the Bay running the program.

Thanks for stopping in with us! There's no better way to get up close and personal with critters that come right from our local waters. Did you happen to catch a glimpse of the big red Sea Hare? A fisherman brought him to us last week. Thanks for the shout-out to Save The Bay - Rhode Island's only environmental organization... More

A great local aquarium that my three year old loved. Yes it's small, but it kept us entertained with lots of touch tanks. It was a perfect break from the beach and fun to see local fish. The staff was great working with kids! We got a coupon for buy 1 get 1 free but even the normal price was... More

We took our 2.5 and 1 year olds to visit this aquarium. I was surprised by how small the facility was and how little was going on. It is just a bunch of fish tanks for the most part. The staff was very friendly and energetic. They seemed mostly knowledgeable about the subjects (except the woman at the shark tank-... More

Thanks for stopping by the Exploration Center and Aquarium over your July 4 weekend! We are a small, hands-on exploration center and proud to be the only aquarium in the area featuring marine life exclusively from Narragansett Bay. Save The Bay's mission is to protect and improve Narragansett Bay, and the Exploration Center is one of the many ways we... More

My boyfriend and I came to Rhode Island specifically on the 3rd Thursday of the month so we could participate in the "Feeding Frenzy". We came earlier in the day and checked out all the exhibits. Everything there is found in Narraganset Bay - which is startling to say the least to me! A majority of the tanks are hands... More

Fantastic little aquarium for kids and families. Great education for all tourists and a lovely way to support the local community. This is the sort of place that people should support.

I love aquariums where there many varieties of sea life but this place was so small. Me kids did not find much to keep them entertained other than the touch tank and the fish tank. We were very surprised to see how small this place was.

So sorry to hear we didn't meet your expectations. Our beachfront Exploration Center & Aquarium isn't the National Aquarium in Baltimore of the New England Aquarium in Boston, but neither is our $8 admission fee. For families looking for a great educational, hands-on experience with critters that come directly from Narragansett Bay, the Exploration Center & Aquarium is a great... More

This place is fun and educational at the same time. There are live fish and other creatures of the sea. Kids love it here. After viewing all the exhibits there are tables with arts and crafts.

My 7 year old granddaughter frequently talks about how exciting her visit was to the aquarium, and she has been to many as a child of a frequently moving military family. Hands on exhibits are of the best quality. A "must visit" experience. Small but worth it!
