The Naval War College Museum interprets the history of the Navy in Narragansett Bay. Permanent exhibits interpret naval activities in the region from the colonial period through the Civil War and also focus on the Naval Torpedo Station, the Naval Training Station, and the Naval War College. A naval art gallery and temporary exhibit space offer changing exhibits on various subjects. For those without base access, reservations need to be made at least 7 business days in advance. Please call or email for details. Closed Holidays Open Saturdays June-Sept - Noon -4:30pm

The museum is really interesting. I had 4 teenagers with me and all found something they learned. Then we went to the Officer's Club for lunch. Anyone can eat there. Prices good and food great.

Really interesting, especially for history buffs and more so for those with an affection or attachment for Naval History. If you have a few hours to spend - take the time to visit.

This is a great little museum that most people would never stop to see. It has some great history and was very worthwhile. They also have a nice little gift shop.

To gain access to this museum, you must call ahead and reserve a pass. Allow several days for the pass to be processed as you are entering an active Naval base. Security is high. Each person will need a picture ID. American citizens are welcome...More

This is a great tour for those who love naval history, it is on the Newport Navy Base and is very interesting and best of all its free

Learn much of the Naval history of Newport here. Plesant volunteer staff and next to the War College complex. A great visit.

Need to apply RAPIDGate Premier prior to enter, the office is on your right before enter Gate 1 when you pass bridge to Jamestown, I-95, NY & Route 138.
