We visited Fort Adams and went on an hour long guided tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and helped paint a clear picture of how the Fort came into existence and what it was used for throughout the years. I was disappointed to learn that...More

Take the guided tour of Ft Adams if you enjoy naval history. Never used in war, this fort was an engineering marvel. The surrounding park is a great place to walk.

Good place to drive to or bike to if I’m Newport. Didn’t tour the fort though it’s a nice spot to view the boats and also to get a full picture of the Newport Bridge. Will be back to tour the fort itself next time....More

I've seen I don't know how many forts but I must admit I really liked this one a lot. Our guide, Greg, was excellent (although you do have to walk fast to keep up!) and answered all questions. You could tell he really was invested...More

Fascinating fortress hovers over the harbor mouth. Great entry into the harbor on a cruise ship with a grand view of the harbor. Fort is an easy addition to the cliff walk and exploration of the Breakers and the other mansions.
