You can find a cross street and amble down to see the views. Try the red lights off Bellevue. But to have an "event" - you can take 1/2 a day and do the whole thing. Not for the weak at heart. Start at Memorial Drive. Good hiking shoes or boots. Check out the internet for the complete details. It's... More

This was sooo cool. It was a cold, sunny day and I was able to get incredible pictures. We started the walk and it was very easy, cement path. Once you get past The Breakers, it gets tricky. Wear rubber bottom shoes and if you are able do not carry anything but cell and wallet. There are parts where you... More

Beautiful seaside cliff walk - mansions on one side and the sea on the other. We also visited St Mary's Parrish where John & Jackie Kennedy were married.

I did it several times while in Newport. Early risers can view the sun rising in the east, illuminating the mansions facing the water. It can get a little crowded at times. There's one area where you have to traverse part of sea wall. It can be a little slippery. Definitely a must do when in Newport.

Its free and freeing! Lovely walk, at your pace, along the walk just below the mansions and above the ocean. Take your dog on a leash. Children must be watched as their is potential for them to fall off the walk to the rocks below.

We did this walk one day and it soaked in the beauty of the mansions on one side and the rocks/water on the other. We did not find the walk overly challenging but there were some parts which weren't paved. We spent time driving to the easton beach parking area because we thought the walk was one direction, but you... More

My husband And I really enjoyed the Cliffwalk. It isn't too demanding if you take your time, and the views are amazing. Mansions on one side, the water on the other! It will give you an appreciation for why New York society simmered here.

The cliff walk is a must - even if parking is a challenge. The views of the ocean and the back of the mansions are special. Definitely wear good walking shoes and some of the walk is on boulders and uneven.
