Lovely and historical as always. I always learn something new about them and history when I go. We were a little underwhelmed by the holiday decorations. Some were appropriate. Some were tacky and didn’t add to the experience. Still a very enjoyable family holiday activity.

We have been to The Breakers twice - amazing place. Enjoyed the head phone tour which helps point out things you would not notice normally. I also played the children revision in each room - which also points out items children would enjoy knowing. Hard...More

Very nicely done. They provided prerecorded voice tour. Nicely decorated gor Christmas. The provided free parking. If you get a multi property pass the cost is not bad.

Fascinating underground tour of the tunnels and heating and electrical systems of The Breakers home. We did the underground tour before the home itself tour and beat the crowds! If you're fascinated by history you'll really enjoy the tours. Everything was decorated for Christmas so...More

Toured this GRAND mansion on a dreary winter day outside. But inside was warm —from the delightfully helpful guides and the beautiful Christmas decorations. Had visited The Breakers probably ten years previous — in the summer. The place showed even better during the holidays. The...More

My husband wanted to see the Vanderbilt's Summer House in Newport while we were visiting family during the holidays. My grandchildren (10 and 7) both wanted to go. We were a bit hesitant about how interested they would be. We were pleasantly surprised that there...More

I've been to the Breakers many times over the past 20 years, but had never been there for the Christmas celebration. While I know that historically no one decorated the Breakers because it was a summer "Cottage", it still was a lovely place to see...More

On this tour you can go at your own pace. I would think with two children, an hour would be ample time. It really depends on you however because you do go at your own pace and not rushed at all.
