We love this museum and I can't wait to get in and see it now that lockdown is lifted. I love the events and exhibits. It is always such an amazing time.

Golden Mummies is a fine exhibit
Oct. 2020
Went to see the Golden Mummies exhibit at Science Museum and had a good time. They are doing timed entries so go online to buy tickets ahead of time. The museum has some beautiful artifacts and a number of unique mummies unlike any I have seen before.

My girlfriend and I had fun in the heart exhibit doing various quizes and challenges. The dinosaur/extinction gallery, the wild animals and the gallery filled with instruments and other cultural artifacts on the second floor were also open to browse.

Overall, it was a nice exhibit and while the whole place is not open, it does make for a good couples hours of enjoyment.

Interactive fun
Mar. 2020 • Family
This museum is fun, but isn’t as big as others we have visited. Some features were not working when we were there (computers weren’t on the right screens?), which was disappointing. The younger kids (2 and 3) had a hard time keeping up. The mummy exhibit was cool, but it’s dark and the kids weren’t super interested. They loved the play area right inside the door more than any other area it seemed. They did love the archaeology dig area though. I’d go again, but with expectations that it’s not as good as other museums nearby.

Wow
Feb. 2020
I love museums, growing up the Buffalo Museum of Science was one diorama after another.Informational but dull. A recent saw quite the chang, many more interactive exhibits, a new spin on the animals and science that surrounds us. I used to think our museums paled in comparison to closeby Toronto, no longer. So impressed we became members!

Golden mummies exhibit
Feb. 2020 • Solo
It was slightly disappointing, because I have seen other Egyptian exhibits. This one was small, interesting but a let down. To be the beginning of a tour, have no gift shop to speak of and no mementos to buy was very disappointing. The Buffalo museum of science should have been better prepared, there wasn't even a program.

Great place for kids
Feb. 2020
This is a great place for kids I imagine. Unfortunately, we were there as two 60-year olds, and although it is well done, it is very much geared for children. It is neat, clean and well organized. But the hands-on exhibits and displays are for children. It was an OK place but we won't go again. Not a lot of parking. We were done in about an hour... with kids it would take longer as they would want to "play" with the interactives.

Oriented towards Children
Aug. 2019
The design of the museum indicates that it was primarily meant to be a means of 'infotainment' to children and school students. Simulation of earthquakes and experimenting with designs, smells in space and simulation of various intensities of wind etc were extremely good. Children visiting the place not only enjoy it but gain an appreciable amount off knowledge.

Quick morning trip
Aug. 2019
We decided to head to the Buffalo Museum of Science before heading back home to Ontario after a weekend in Buffalo. It's a smaller museum compared to others, but still had a lot to do. Both kids (ages 8 and 2) had a blast. I like how they have many different things to see and learn about, and a lot of interactive displays for the kids. They also have a dinosaur exhibit - which isn't very large (we've been to huge exhibits at the ROM in Ontario and Royal Tyrell in Drumheller, Alberta), but it did have several dinosaurs on display and lots of information. The kids loved the "In Motion" exhibit, and I think we spent the most time in that area. The 2 year old especially loved the gravity display with the foam balls.

Overall, it is a well-maintained museum that you can spend a couple of hours in (or longer if you do all the activities). It was quiet for a Monday morning, which was nice. Lots to do, and it was great for us adults as well as the kids.

Science is Fun!!
Jul. 2019 • Family
I remember the Buffalo Science Museum from when I was a kid. It is still a great place to spend a day w your kids. My group of kids ranged from 16-5 years old. We all had a fun time together. The older kids showed the little ones how hands on worked and would read exhibit info as needed. As u can see from the pics it is interactive. We also went on the 50th Anniversary of Apollo Moon Landing. admission was $2pp. I recommend going and having Fun w Science.

Just ok!

We have been to various science museums. This one seemed like a waste of money. Some exhibits are ok but nothing special. Lot of them pretty lame
