Worth a stroll
Jun. 2021 • Couples
Put the address for Panera bread into your mapping app get directions to this section of Elmwood (the road itself is lengthy). Cute boutique shops, restaurants, Watson’s Chocolates, Globe Market for lunch made this a nice afternoon.

A Lot Of Places Re Going Out Of Business There
Nov. 2019
It was a decent area but now so many places have gone out of business that it is not the same. Might not be a good place to go any more. Depends on what opens there if anything. Stores are raising their prices to compensate for the lack of visitors. Shouldn't they be lowering them to attract more customers?

Groovy Victorians
Aug. 2020
A walking tour of the neighborhood will delight the admirer of Victorian architecture as well as the shopper or cafe lover. It's got a great feel and is a popular neighborhood for great drinks and eats in Buffalo.

Many Stores Here Are Going Out Of Business
Nov. 2019
The Elmwood Strip as it is known is deteriorating fast. many stores have gone out of business and a developer has asked the public what stores should be there because few things are working. That is in part due to the homeless and degenerates taking over, the stores still there are not very good, and there are many better places to go. You are best off going to the northern suburbs where there is an upscale presence with much better selection and service. I would not go out in Buffalo at night with the very high crime rate which you should check into online, and you are better to travel to a different city altogether. Buffalo is not a good place to be, do not be fooled by what the people here tell you. They have not been to a better place so they do not know.

Buffalo - phoenix rising
Sep. 2019
Buffalo is such an under-rated city, with hidden gems like this one.

I was staying at Hotel Henry, not realizing it was right next to Elmwood Village. It is such a great, trendy area with boutique shops. And you're in close proximity to museums, and the site of the McKinley assassination site.

I will be back!

loved the shops and great places to eat
Oct. 2019
had a great time walking around in an area that was safe and fun. We picked up coffee at local shop, went to farmers market, stayed at Elmwood Village Inn (highly recommend) went to Cole's (great bar) walked to park and shopped to get Buffalo items to take home. LOVED IT!

Upper West Side NYC Vibe!
Oct. 2019 • Friends
Even though it's called a Village...it reminded me more of the upper west side Manhattan. Walkable, bikeable, strollerable and dog walkable. Great shops, restaurants, bars, barbershops and hair salons. You could spend the entire day Pampering yourself in this neighborhood.

The End of an Era
Aug. 2019
Elmwood village thanks to the bizarre decisions of a (corrupt?) city hall that bends over to developers, creates an "Award Winning" Green Code then allows constant abeyances that ignore the Code. What once had small independent businesses, music stores, arists, clothing, cafe/restaurants, now is plagued with chains. The funky wood homes and shops are being torn down and replaced with grotesque buildings,,in what the city hall amateurs call Density,.,.,. translated, no parking,, heavy traffic,,turnover of businesses, unrealistic rental rates,,and a transformation into a typical suburban shopping streets.

Just an average street with some fancy building and restaurants
Jul. 2019
I walked almost all the way along elmwood street, I really did not see anything that special. There are tons of restaurants (some of them kind of fancy and expensive). It was very difficult to find a spot to park on the nearby streets. I really do not understand why they put this "village" as a must see place, overall it was not a waste of time, but just an ordinary street walk.

Pretty neighborhood with beautiful homes
Aug. 2019 • Solo
I walked through here before and after the weekend farmer's market (which is good, by the way). Definitely the nicest part I saw of a city that's still struggling in most places.
