My 12 year old son and I went up to do the course again. My son who just turned 12 was now old enough to do the big course. He has done the kids under 12 course many times. That being said the big course is a very different animal. Its broke down into 5 sections. And is VERY Intence. I loved watching him navigate the course. It was way more challenging then either of us expected. We loved it!
Can't wait to go back again next year.

We did the zip line course. A lot less work than the adventure course but still exercise with a lot less sweating. Just a quick training and you are off. We still had a guide nearby but we were pretty much left alone, no hurry and we just enjoyed it. They have alot of lines, we did not count them but there are alot! They also give a great senior discount!

We made a reservation for later in the day and were surprised that our card was charged immediately. It was like pulling teeth to get our money back when they closed the course due to lightening.
We arrived a half hour before our scheduled time as instructed, and proceeded to sit there and wait, as there was no reason for us to be there that early. Then the lightening came and the course closed. We were told we would not be issued a refund, but had to wait 1.5 hours in our car before they would even consider giving us a refund. This did not make sense. We went back and asked again for a refund, but they insisted no refunds would be given until 1.5 hours later (not kidding). We went back and asked if they could issue the refund by phone so we wouldn't have to come back. They said no. Once they have your money, they intend on keeping it even when they cannot fulfill their half of the deal. We again had to insist for a refund and then noticed on their wall that their policy is to indeed give refunds if you had not actually started the course. A few rogue employees ruined this experience for us. My advice is DO NOT make a reservation but just show up and make sure the course if open and operating before giving them your money as the hassle to try and get it back was nothing short of frustrating.

Please do not give them your money. My primary complaint is with the guides. They are not helpful at all when you are on the course and yet will remove you from the course for any minor infraction. And I do mean minor. This may work well for people with experience using harnesses but if you need a little guidance this is not the place to go. We were only able to complete half of the course and were given no compensation. Do not waste your money here.

Be prepared to pay at the time you call to make your reservation. When we got there we had just enough time to fill out forms and turn them in, before they closed due to weather in the distance. I understand closing, due to weather... what I don't understand is being told I HAD to wait in the parking lot an hour and a half before they would refund my money.
If you make a reservation, good luck trying to get your money back. They do not make it easy. Confusing when you arrive. Poor communication. Horrible customer service.
My advice? Don't make a reservation. You may have to wait to get started, but if you've already paid, you will be told you must wait longer to get your money back if the weather does not cooperate.

Weather is unpredictable in Northern Arizona. We try our best to get everyone through the Course with safety as the number one focus. Our weather patterns usually allow lightening to move through our area in 30-60 minutes, but sometimes it is longer, or sometimes it remains all day. We have a radar system that alerts us of lightening within 6 miles of our course. A that time we do need to remove customers from the courses for at least 30 minutes, but possibly longer as we must have a 30 minute time during which there is no lightening within 6 miles.
Knowing that our customers want to go through the course, we ask them to either go into town and come back, or wait, if the lightening within our exclusion zone does not cease within 1.5 hours then we will reschedule or refund customers that cannot, or do not want to, stay and do the course when the weather does clear.
We understand that lightening delays are unfortunate, and that they are unpredictable. We have had days where the lightening is around all day but outside our 6 mile zone, and we have had situations where the lightening is only right above us!
We apologize for errant or poor communication in this case.
Our Course is 100% outside and in nature and as such, the use of the Course may, at times, be unpredictable. Our desire is for everyone to have fun and experience the adrenaline but in a safe environment.
Thank You

Booked a reservation for 5 people. Showed up and they had overbooked our time. They offered to allow us another time later in the day. However, we had other plans at that time that we couldn't change. Asked for a refund, the young employee said they can't do that. Nice!!!!

While we apologize for any issue any customer issues, and we pride ourselves on our customer service, we felt that we needed to post a response to this post as it is out of character for our company, and also drastically different than any other review.
In this case we were not overbooked, we had space in the reserved time and in the time slot 30 minutes later. The customer arrived a few minutes past their start time, and we had already started the other groups that were also reserved in that time slot, as we are focused on starting people at the time they book. The customer needed to complete their waivers and by that time it was only 10 minutes until the next start time. The Customer did start with that group and continued on to the Course.
We hope this helps to explain what happened in this case.

We traveled up from our vacation spot in the Phoenix area for the day to enjoy the Flagstaff Extreme course. Beautiful drive and well worth the trip once we arrived. Our 15 year-old and 12 year-old children had a blast and spent the better part of three hours traversing the course. Only reasons for not rating this 5/5 were:
1. The lack of clarification on parents accompanying minors under 16 years throughout the entire course. Rules were buried in the fine print, but weren't clarified until we were on the course and learned that parents had to be within two platforms of minor children at all times (actually on the course, not walking below). My 12 year-old daughter and I decided not to proceed after the first few courses, leaving my son frustrated that he'd have to stop without finishing all five courses. Later found out we could hire a guide to accompany him through the balance of the course. We hired the guide for the second half of the course and he was fantastic. Our son finished the course, enjoyed working with the guide and enjoyed the full experience.
2. Guides and Front Office Staff: Friendliness of staff varied widely, with some guides providing excellent, professional service (i.e. the guide that accompanied our son) and others proving to be less than helpful. As an example, at the point where we had to stop with our son, the "guide option" wasn't immediately offered or discussed, and the guides were short with us in saying "you can't go any further." Correct approach would have been to explain that the rule is in place for safety and if he wanted to proceed, we could hire a guide to accompany him through the remainder of the course.
All in all, we'd do it again and strongly recommend this attraction.

I took my granddaughters to the adult Flagstaff Extreme Adventure course over their fall breaks from high school.
One of the girls is quite adventurous, the other is significantly less adventurous. Because the youngest is under 16, I hired a guide to facilitate. (We were lucky and Delaney was her/their guide. Delaney was great with both girls.)
The adventure course is actually 5 courses in one. Each course moves higher into the trees and the adventures can become more challenging. This breakup of the course was great for us, because my less adventurous grand only completed the first of the 2 courses. The courses definitely pushed her beyond her comfort zone and she was pleased with her accomplishment. I liked that the participants can decide when they've had enough. They simply come down at the end of a course without help from the staff and without any attention being drawn to them.
My grand and I walked the rest of the 3 courses following below the adventurer and Delaney.
The adventurer went on to complete the course, with a little help from Delaney, but she was whooped!
Both girls LOVED the experience!
Don't underestimate the effort this adventure requires...

This was my 3rd time coming here, and I LOVE this place!!! The weather is beautiful almost year round and EVERY one of the staff are always so friendly and helpful. Each obstacle course (there are 5) is progressively harder and the views from the platforms above the trees are absolutely breathtaking! If you like challenging yourself on obstacle courses that end with a zipline through the beautiful trees of Flagstaff, this place is AWESOME and so much FUN!!! Special thanks to Michelle and Kira this last visit! You guys were GREAT!!!

Great value if you can get groupon deal. Book earlier in day so you can avoid afternoon sun and crowds. Pick up gloves from dollar store (hardware or automotive section) and cut off tips. Flagstaff X will sell you the same ones for $4. No need for a water bottle with carabiner. You can leave your water bottle on one of the picnic tables as after each section you can take a break before heading to next level. You will get warm from the physical activity, but wear a long sleeve shirt to protect your arms from sun and rubbing against obstacles. I read comments that this is for anyone, but I have to disagree. You will be using upper body!!! I think those who are overweight may find it physically demanding.

We plan to make a visit on 12/23-12/24. Would the place still open? How is the weather then? What should we bring if cold?

I have 3 kids and only one would be able to do the adult course, which I would have to complete with him. Is there somewhere my 2 youngest can safely wait while I do the adult course with my oldest since my 2 youngest wouldn’t be able to participate in it?
Written 29 December 2017
Hi. I don’t think there is really, also we didn’t realise that you are completely on you’re own whilst completing the adult course. Only one person can be on each zip line Point at a time. My 14 year old did all 30 zip lines on the adult course but my 18 year came down after the first zip line as she hated that she was on her own and worried she might forget something. The staff members just hang around in the ground watching ( not really a help in my eyes ), so we were quite disappointed with the whole set up. There are the odd bench to sit and wait but quite a distance from the adult course.

We are traveling with our dog. Can we take turns enjoying your attraction while still attending to our pooch?
Written 15 April 2017
We have guests bring their dogs. You are responsible for the dog(s). While up in the trees the dog needs to be restrained and watered. You should be able to see the pooch from most areas.

My youngest, 5 year old, will be with us . . . anything for her to do since she isn't old enough for the course?
Written 11 February 2017
Many people face this same situation. Most have a non-participating friend or family member watch them and follow along and take pictures. Its a forest so kids generally like playing with twigs and branches, etc. We hope that helps!
