This was not a good excursion for us. Maybe we missed the entrance, I'm not sure - it's not well marked. We did pull in where our GPS directed us to but the road wound around to a construction area/dead end. We never saw any...More

Nice paved trail winding around the lake. A nice family walk, the trail is wide enough for a vehicle, so plenty of room for a stroller and the family without holding up anyone who may be walking behind you. The lake is beautiful too. This...More

The whole trail loop around the lake isn't open yet since the tornado went through (the big bridge at the far end is closed for repairs), but this is still a beautiful walk. The destruction caused by the tornado is immense on the Rt. 307...More

This path is (if I remember rightly) about 3 miles, no difficult slopes. It surrounds the largest reservoir in the area so it is almost completely through forest, pine mostly. You frequently encounter deer at the sides of the trail. It's almost IN downtown Scranton...More

This is my go-to for running while here. As of mid-may, still closed bc they are being precise about clearing the hanging limbs and branches (from the tornado damage) from the trees before they let anyone on. If its open when you get here, it...More

The walkway around Lake Scranton is just over 3 miles long. It winds around the Lake, over the dam and is safe and secure as there are many people also walking daily. Recently, there was a tornado in the area and it has been closed...More

We stayed in Wilkes-barre and decided to spend one day in Scranton. This place had great reviews - so we decided to give it a try. When we got there the gate was closed. There was a car parked behind the gate. The gentleman in...More

My fiancée & I love our walks at Lake Scranton! So gorgeous & serene.... unfortunately they do not allow pets. That is the only downside... if that changed I would rate it 5 stars.

It was re-opened and then re-closed. I believe there is work being done on the dam and entire loop is not open.

There is another entrance that is wheel chair accessible it's the one that has limited parking. Then the main parking lot had a steep incline that I would not recommend taking an electric WC.
