This church was re-built after a devastating fire but all of the icons and historic memorabilia of this Russian Orthodox church were saved. It is still a working church and the clergy were present, answering questions and chatting with visitors, during our recent visit. The...More

This church is beautiful and is not to be missed. The interior is lavish with beautiful paintings and alter. It's truly worth seeing.

After hearing and reading about this cathedral my wife and I were excited to have an opportunity to pay a visit. However, to our dismay we found out that the cathedral closed to the public much of the time, so all we could do was...More

Something different from the usual Alaska tourist place. Filled with shiny, beautiful icons and nice handouts with interesting information. You get a postcard souvenir with your $5 entry donation. Interesting stories.

At first, I was a bit reluctant to visit this place, after all, I thought it's just a church. After visiting I realized the uniqueness and the importance of the church in Sitka. Recommend a visit.

This is an amazing Greek Orthodox Church. Contain beautiful icons. But it is also a huge part of Sitka's history. It has an active congregation. Also a lovely store right across the street. Yes to young children, but keep them under control.

The original church burned down and this one is an exact reconstruction of the original. There are many icons inside. It is a pretty church, but it is not free. A $5 per person "donation" is required.

Depends on which pier - however as already expressed - you can walk the older part of the town. If you are on a Hawaiian Dream cruise you will be in the town proper them bused to the pier.
