Located right in the center of town (and dividing the main business street) is the iconic St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox cathedral :)). It’s been rebuilt (following a fire), actively hosts services, and is a part of Sitka’s Russian history as well... a super popular place...More

There is an admission fee. We were under time constraints and didn't feel it worthwhile to pay the admission fee. From the lobby you could see much of the interior and it was stunning. I didn't believe at first the church was actually built while...More

You'll want to take in the beauty of this Orthodox Cathedral with the paintings and icons handed down for centuries. Be sure to get a tour guide to explain the history and detail - dating back to 1793. It's a small cathedral and you can...More

They ask for a donation but you cannot get in without paying $ 5. Interesting for Russian Heritage and site visit.

Depends on which pier - however as already expressed - you can walk the older part of the town. If you are on a Hawaiian Dream cruise you will be in the town proper them bused to the pier.
