We love to come here and take a walk around. It is very beautiful and you can get some nice views of the city from here as well as seeing the history and the totems. A "must-do" when in Sitka. If you live here, it...More

The visitor centre houses a good selection of First Nation artifacts and contemporary artwork. On the ocean there is a forested walk and totems to view. Come prepared for rain.

Was very impressed with the centre. Lots of information on the many indigenous tribes of western Alaska. Also walked through the lovely Totem Park.

Visited Sitka and enjoyed visiting this park. The totem poles are placed along a trail that winds through the woods. Very peaceful walking the trail and viewing the totem poles.

After our excursion, we walked to and around the entire Historic/Totem Park in less than an hour. Situated just outside of the bustling downtown and right on the waterfront, you can go to the Park Museum or (as we did) walk around the Totem Park...More

This is a very nice place to spend some time. We watched an interesting movie about Native Americans and their culture. There are many artifacts to see here as well as the numerous totem poles both inside and outside.

What a lovely walk along the shore line under the beautiful canopy of trees & totem poles!! Sitka's national park personnel are informing about all that is Sitka.

A beautiful walk along a small river teeming with spawning salmon, then continuing with a stroll along a forest path with totem poles every few yards. The museum will instruct you how to 'read' them (bottom to top, e.g., with the 'watchman' at the very...More

The Totem Pole Park is a very short distance from the center of town. You simply walk westward and it may be a 20 minute walk.

We flew into Sitka and self-directed our entire vacation, so I can't speak to what the cruise may offer. However, we walked to the park in the rain from our hotel and did the tour on our own. It is free and self-guided... More
