Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among piñons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.

This was our first time here. We've experienced spas all over the world, and now we're adding this to our list of favorite day spas. The remote location really works for the quite zen atmosphere of the property. We started with 90 mins. the in OFaro suite and are so glad that we did, it's really a must do before... More

Went for a day pass, community hot tub is currently under renovation, so we were relegated to an eight person tub; rate should have been reduced since offerings were serverely downgraded.

Dear Mr. Fozziedoggie Thanks for your feedback. In order to become more fabulous than we already are, we are continually improving our facilities. We try to limit the inconvenience by working at night and in slower times of the year. Our new Grand Bath is now open. Come give it a try and I think you'll agree that it was... More

This is a special mountain paradise to go to relax. The tubs are a delight in the evening when you can gaze at the stars. We attend often and have sat in the tubs when it is raining lightly or snowing. Both are heavenly experiences. The type choice of massage is good and they only hire very experienced practitioners. The... More

Fantastic hill and mountain views from the deck. The Omakase (chef's choice) is an absolute delight, with a wide range of vegetables and meats. Being delivered a hot rock and slices of beef to fry it on was a blast. It is rather expensive, but I was happy to pay the bill for such a diverse and exciting meal, as... More

Just back from a recent trip to New Mexico and I had anticipated that Ten Thousand Waves would have been a favorite stop. The property is lovely in a rustic mountainside setting just outside of Santa Fe. Lots of stairs to get everywhere, but doable. I booked a package well in advance, for facials, lunch and private tub. The billing... More

The staff were friendly and welcoming. I was given a great tour before my massage. I really enjoyed the womens only tub after my massage and the foot soak. The locker rooms were clean and well stocked with towels as well as sandals. The Japanese toilets were great! Check out was smooth and helpful. I received a locals card as... More

Words can't describe how awesome this place is. I visited with two friends and we had the most relaxing day ever. The Far Far East treatment (scalp massage, shiatsu massage and foot massage) was mind-blowing. I actually fell asleep during the foot massage. The setting is so gorgeous and peaceful. Truly a unique and wonderful experience.

This is a really nice place and very relaxing. We enjoyed waiting almost as much as the massage with the soaking foot baths and hot teas. Nice shower and locker facilities. It's bit of a hike from the parking lot but they do have a shuttle if you ring the bell at the bottom of the stairs.

We had couples massages and a long private tub. It's so lovely to sit out under the stars and have a soak. I've had their facials as well. Everything is first class at The Waves. Loved it!

Ten Thousand Waves was a spectacular escape for us. We rented a hot tub suite that was beautiful, clean and modern. Not only did it have 2 hot tubs, a sauna, both indoor and outdoor showers, and a relaxation room, but it also had the most high-tech toilet I've ever seen. And, even our dog was allowed to join us...
