Ten Thousand Waves is inspired by the great Japanese mountain hot spring resorts. Ten minutes from downtown Santa Fe, but only minutes from the National Forest, there is nothing quite like this on the North American continent. Among piñons and junipers are beautiful outdoor hot tubs and spa suites, world-class bodywork & skin care, and the amazing izanami restaurant. For a lucky few, it is the closest lodging to the Santa Fe Ski area.

We had a moderately lovely time at Ten Thousand Waves, but were unimpressed with a number of very basic hospitalty elements. For example, when we arrived, my partner and I had spent a number of hours driving and we were exhausted. The receptionist was on the phone line and made us wait for over 15 minutes. All we wanted was... More

This was our first visit to Ten Thousand Waves since moving to Santa Fe this spring. We decided to go all out and book an afternoon of delights, starting with a one hour soak in one of the private outdoor cedar hot tubs, followed by a 90 minute traditional Thai massage (on the mat) and a 90 minute Nose to... We came during the winter shoulder season, so it was very easy to book a couples session. We both picked a slightly different package, which came with three treatments plus an hour in a private tub. I recommend booking an afternoon treatment so you can go for a hike on the many nearby trails in the morning. The package price... More

We brought another couple with us who were visiting from out of town. The facility is more rustic than we expected for a Japanese style resort. Nothing wrong with rustic, just not what we expected given the marketing. Two of us were very happy with the massages we received, two not so much given cost. The restaurant us full-on Japanese... We heard about this lovely Japanese garden and hot tubs from a family member. It was a very relaxing experience. There is also a Japanese restaurant and full spa treatments. We'll do it again. The drive to and from the place was astoundingly beautiful also.

Found this while we were in town, we just popped into the open pool for a couple of hours. Nice to soak as the sun set and the stars came out. Hot tea and water on offer, look forward to going back for private spa and see more of the place. Staff were very friendly, un-rushed and professional.

This was my first time at a spa, and I went reluctantly since my daughter really wanted to go. I was quite pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly and informative, giving us a tour of the place and explaining how to proceed. I spent most of my time in the women's communal tub, located outdoors in a quiet and beautiful... It was my sister's and I's first time. We did the private hot tub, dinner , and a massage. The Staff was great and got us where we needed to be for each thing that we did on time. The massage was wonderful. I would recommend this to everyone.

Wanted to come here for a long time and finally did. Cool experience and location, the bath was really nice. Restaurant was delicious! Did have a boujie atmosphere at the spa which I didn't like at all. Felt like they looked down on me for not getting a spa package. The place is expensive enough and I didn't feel welcome... More

Thanks for your nice review! I'm sorry you felt you received some attitude from staff. We pride ourselves on being inclusive, not exclusive. Packages are great to totally disengage from the world, but we realize that not everyone has the time or means. Many of our guests never do anything but the communal pools (around $17 a day with a... Expensive, but worth the price. My husband and I shared a private pool, sauna and waterfall cold plung. Than had great 2 hour massages. Enjoyed a great lunch first at their restaurant. After all the touring and walking it was a welcomed relief to just relax and be pampered.
