Date of Visit: Dec 9th, 2017 I have been here previously, on a visit to Santa Fe. This is a beautiful rock formation that is easy to get to. It is right on the highway north of Santa Fe. There is plenty of parking, and...More

This was a frustrating and disappointing excursion out of Santa Fe. The map on TA is not accurate. The rock formation is about five miles north of the mapped location. Follow the written directions. As others have mentioned, this is actually best viewed from a...More

I was debating whether or not I wanted to go see this formation, but I needed gas so I stopped at the gas station at the exit. Filled up and was checking traffic before getting back on the road when I looked up and there...More

Yet another interesting rock formation in this High plains desert. So large it cannot be missed, and it is readily visible.

This is pretty average and out of town a ways. I would check it out if you're already driving through the area, but it's out of town.

Nice place. Was pretty quiet when we were there. From the south side, it really does look like a camel. Pretty neat.

New Mexico has all sorts of interesting rock formations, and this is one of the most famous. Camel Rock, well, looks like a camel, particularly when viewed from the side. But there's a bit of a problem with this. Earlier in 2017, the camel lost...More

There is no second camel. The nose fell off very recently. Thought to be due to erosion over time.
