If you are driving from Taos to Santa Fe, or the other way around, this unusual rock formation, located on the Teseque Indian Reservation, provides a good reason to pull off the road, and to stretch your legs and take a few pictures. Warning: The...More

It is an interesting formation but not too exciting. We drove past it several times and that was enough. We didn't feel the need to stop and get out of our vehicle.

Part of the head has broken off, and it sparsely resembles a camel anymore. You are more likely to spot clouds over NM that resemble a camel than this rock formation.

My wife and I would drive by this rock formation every time we would drive on the highway to visit a place to see. What is funny about this, is that there is a Casino across the street called the Camel Rock Casino.

We thought this was a nice rock form, but wait until you see Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument or Bandelier National Monument. This is just a passing rest stop compared to those awesome sites.

Not a hard climb to visit; right off the highway; and the casino by the same name is across the highway. Very interesting rest stop

There is no second camel. The nose fell off very recently. Thought to be due to erosion over time.
