Overview
More
In 1988, the Pueblo of Pojoaque established the Poeh Cultural Center as the first permanent tribally owned and operated mechanism for cultural preservation and revitalization within the Pueblo communities of the northern Rio Grande Valley. The facility itself resembles a traditional Pueblo village with its adjacent art studio buildings and outdoor gathering areas. The Center emphasizes arts and cultures of all Pueblo People with focus on the Tewa-speaking Pueblos of Pojoaque, San Ildefonso, San Juan, Santa Clara, Tesuque and Nambe. The Poeh is a place for us to share our Tewa culture with guests from other cultures through our exhibits and events, and guided interpretive tours of our exhibits, facilities and lands.

Small and creative dioramas and contemporary art. I recommend you visit this centre - you'll come away with a better understanding of how the good people on the pueblo have managed to retain their culture despite almost overwhelming odds.

The Poeh Cultural Center is a very nice exhibit. It tells the story of the Tewa Puebloans, particularly that of Pojaque pueblo. Although they use dioramas made by a local artist, the story is still there. They have changing exhibits that feature other Native American Artists....More

The Poeh Cultural Centre offers the visitors a glimpse into pueblo life and a beautiful collection of contemporary artists' work, both inside the beautiful reconstructed pueblo buildings and around them on the grounds. There are many beautiful sculptures surrounding you at every turn.
