We always schedule in a trip to the Santa Fe farmer's market when we are here. There are lots of fresh and yummy veggies and fruits to choose from as well as locally made goods. This trip we didn't need much, but we got some lovely snap peas and a super fresh bunch of basil. Regretting that we brought so much from home!

A Santa Fe is lacking if it doesn't include some time (hard to limit the hours you could spend here) at the Santa Fe Farmer's Market. Open on Tuesday (afternoon/evening?) and Saturday from 7-1. Live music, produce that is so beautiful and varied, cheeses and breads and pastries to die for. Art of various medium and tastes was also on offer, with artists sharing their techniques for the curious.

Even four kiddos from 2-10 in our group were kept engaged. Just so jealous that our smaller Florida Panhandle community had such variety.

Have been to the farmers market every time we go to Santa Fe. even when it was way out south at the winter location in dead of winter in a snow storm ....worth the time and the produce it great. Some very nice produce in fall. Not so much but still some in the spring. Art work of dried chili pepper arrangements from the lady at the south end are beautiful. Bought some years ago and still nice 15+ years later.
Watch out for parking Natzi's we got a ticket that was placed on the car BEFORE the meter expired my wife watched the meter run down then turned around and saw the ticket.....THEN....spent an hour arguing with the arrogant people....told by manager at B&B this is their tactics....!!

I am so glad I took the time to visit this market! Really friendly folks and a local vibe. Lower prices than at home in Boulder, CO. I wish I'd saved more of my appetite for a big breakfast. Make sure you find the table (it was inside in July) with the long line. The tamales looked amazing. I had the apple strudel that was far beyond what you'd usually get with lots of fresh fruit inside. I bought some great smelling chipotle powder from a local farm, expensive at $10 but you can tell it's going to make some amazing dishes. Also bought some hickory mustard from some really friendly mustard vendors that was great when I tried it on a hamburger at home. Bought an unusual mug from the booths that are separate over by SITE gallery...those are worth checking out. A short, fun and productive visit. Save some of your money for this. You might find some of your best gifts here.

We were greatly pleased with the farmer's market. It is truly a market with an offering of goods and produce which were seasonal, regional and largely organic. I was on a short visit, couldn't drive up to a favorite Espanola farm stand for my spices and was happy to find Espanola had come to Sta. Fe!

Vendors offer an assortment of local wares. A couple of favorites included Purple Adobe lavender farms which offered a wide array of body, home & culinary products and Second Bloom farm which offered lovely goats milk soaps & lotions. You will find yourself buying in doubles & multiples as their products make great gifts but keep some stuff for yourself.

Don't eat breakfast or lunch before coming! There are vendors selling ready to eat food. Look for Intergalactic Bread Company, get some good coffee or tea inside the food pavilion, you'll eat good but won't feel weighed down.

The farmer's market....add it to your list of things to do while in Sta. Fe.

Turned off the highway during a road trip from Colorado Springs to Phoenix and were looking forward to some beautiful fruit and local goods. So disappointed to see that the market closes at noon on Saturdays!

Open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm. Super busy on Saturdays. Easiest and best parking is probably at the multi-level parking structure recommended on the Farmers Market website -- $1 for first hour and $2 per hour for additional hour(s).

Lots of stalls with crafts, jewelry, clothing, etc in the first area we approached, then turns into more food-oriented stalls. Some are indoors and some are outdoors -- all along the tracks.

The produce was lovely, but pretty limited in selection. Since it's all LOCAL, they all offer pretty much the same things (determined by season). A couple of bread companies, but we were not impressed with any of the bread options. The sour dough breads were finely textured and lacked much sourdough flavor. Nice crust, but . . . .

The produce was super fresh and very pretty, but also extremely expensive compared to Sprouts, . . . . and the flavor wasn't worth the price difference. We like to support the local growers, BUT not at a 100%+ premium.

Given the crowds, the limited offerings and the prices, we'll skip this for our weekly shopping while here in Santa Fe for 2 months.

I realize it was a cold morning, but if you are going to only have a handful or two of vendors maybe it shouldn’t be opened any longer for the season. It took me more time to find the market and park my car than it did to look at what was for sale. I was very disappointed but would check it out if I were to come back during a summer month.

Love the SF Farmer’s Market! It's a bit smaller on the “food” end of things than some farmers markets I’m used to, coming from Ontario, (not surprising, given the location in New Mexico), but tons of great art to round out the offerings.

For travelers, I'd note that it is much better come mid-May/June (in winter, the food offerings, especially, are a bit slim). For parking, there's an underground lot below the REI store which was easy to get in and out of.

I had heard before travelling that Santa Fe had a reputation for being delightful and quirky, and my travelling buddy and I agreed that that felt more on display at the market than anywhere else we went on the trip. The diversity of artists in the outdoor artists' market was also impressive, and everything was of very high quality. Made for a great and fun Saturday morning!

A sunny Sat. morning in September was the perfect time to visit this amazing fresh air market. Come for the wide array of fresh seasonal produce, artisan breads, flowers, handmade goods, and much more. Savor the smell of peppers roasting over hot coals. The strawberry-rhubarb pie we purchased for dinner was worth the visit alone. Great fun.
