I thought this part of our tour would be a waste of time but was I so wrong. Not only did I get a better understanding of the available grown foods of New Mexico, ( hot peppers, chilies etc ), I got to taste the meal that was prepared. I got a better understanding of the uses of spices. The... More

I visited Santa Fe and Taos for 12 days over Christmas. I was on my own for a few days before my son arrived and decided to try something new, a New Mexico brunch cooking class. What a great decision! I learned so much about using spices. Chef Allen Smith and his sous chef were professional and engaging. I am... More

I enjoy cooking and I love learning about the history of different cultures through their foods. Santa Fe Cooking School satisfies both! I have attended two classes, one in April/2016, and New Year's Eve/2016. Two different instructors and menus and both great food and fun, and taught me so much about New Mexico's history. The classroom is comfortable and very... More

Our recipes were thrown off because we were told that the mini premeasured portions cups were accurate, ,BUT they were not. The pre-portioned cups were way off. Messed up our final recipes and flavor.

My husband and I visit Santa Fe five or six times a year and always make sure to attend a class at the School of Cooking. This past week we attended 2 demo classes: Spanish Tapas and Traditional New Mexico III. Both were taught by Michelle Chavez. The menus were well-balanced, the food was excellent and the atmosphere relaxing and... More

I surprised my husband and signed us up for the Authentic Spanish Tapas class. This is a demo class with lunch included. It was really fun! The chef was Michelle Chavez who was so knowledgeable and engaging. Learned a lot of history and cooking techniques that we hope to use. The time went by quickly and the tapas at the... More

Great cooking class - very informative and entertaining. Michelle Chavez was a great instructor! I learned a lot about the history of Santa Fe as well as the history of the food. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We booked our holiday specifically to attend the cooking school, and were really looking forward to taking their hands-on "Salsa I" class. 2 days after we arrived in Sante Fe, they called us to say they were cancelling the course because they only had 3 people enrolled ! This is inexcusable. If there are only 3, then they should still... More

On this Santa Fe visit, the hubby and I were looking forward to a taking another "hands on" class at the Santa Fe Culinary School but were sad to find out that they have closed. So we decided to take a "cooking class" at the Santa Fe Cooking School for $85 a person. It sounded fabulous, Foods of Spain, right?... More

I am so sorry that you were not happy with the class that you took with us earlier this week. We offer both demonstration style classes and hands-on classes. This was obviously a demonstration style class and I am sorry if that was not communicated to you in advance. I appreciate the feedback in regards to the chef and will... More
