We walked to this site a couple of times. Not a strenuous walk. Beautiful views of the City from this place. We recommend.

This is at the northern edge of downtown S.Fe. There is little here to see, but a few plaques convey the hills' history, and fort significance. It is a nice "hike uphill from the Plaza, and affords good views across the town.

Old Fort Marcy Park has good views of Santa Fe although right in Santa Fe. It can be peaceful and rejuvenating if you need quiet. Auto access it by traveling 3 blocks up Artist Rd. and turning right... Parking lot is deserted

When we were there, there was no one around that questioned you being there. I am sure if you keep your dog on a leash and pick up after him or her there would be no problem.

There is no charge. You can take a car up to the top of the hill from the back or you can walk up the path from Paseo de Peralta from the front.
