Oldest church structure is worth checking out. So many beautiful adobe structures in Santa Fe. It's right next door to the oldest house in the USA. So according to Carlos at "Food tours of Santa Fe" maybe "that makes the alley in between the two the oldest alley."

When visiting Santa Fe make sure you do not miss the San Miguel Chapel. It is not too far off the main square, easy walking distance. the Chapel is a very historic place, It is advertised as the oldest church in the US and is built on the foundation of an even older church. This chapel is very simply decorated.... More

Don't miss this amazing gem. We are so fortunate to be able to see our history in person and not rely solely on picture and books.

We enjoyed our visit to the chapel, certainly worth the $1.00 entrance fee. On the day we were there, a priest talked about the chapel, and he allowed the children to ring the large bell inside. Very interesting and charming.

When reading about things to do in Santa Fe, San Miguel Chapel kept coming up as a place to see. It is the oldest church in the US and sits on a site where an even older church once stood. It's a unique experience because they've left a "hole" in the floor near the altar where you can see archaeological... More

After being successful early on recent hunting trip near Santa Fe I was able to spend some time touring the city. Visiting a church that was built 10 years before the pilgrims arrived was quite amazing.

Nice, historic Catholic church, and it is also the oldest church in the U.S.A., (1610). Entrance fee: $1 USD. It has holy mass too.
