Our whale naturalist told us to come to this park to hear Stellar Sea Lions. He was right! We had to use binoculars to see them. We could hear them with no problem. They must come closer at some point during the year because there...More

I actually made it here (and back!!!) on my bike, so am very proud of myself. There is a small interpretive center that no one was staffing in September, when we went. It had very little in it. There are picnic tables and restrooms. There...More

We stopped here after a 3.5 mile hike for lovely picnic overlooking the water, watching the seagull flight pattern...It appeared to be less traveled than south beach and we had the spot to ourselves...a peaceful location to just be, enjoy each other and nature. Takes...More

Cattle Point is a nice place to stop by and visit. You can hike out to the light house and see sweeping vistas of the southern tip of the San Juan Islands. It only takes 30-60 minutes to walk around and take in everything. This...More

A totally different experience from the landscape of other areas of the island. This area is more desert-like with rocky cliffs. However, the sweeping views of the ocean and surrounding islands matches the rest of San Juan's impressive views. Easy climbing on rocks overlooking the...More

Interesting driftwood-strewn beaches. Major logs to negotiate to put toes on the sand/gravel!s. On a really clear day, the Olympic Penninsula should be spectacular across the water.

The currents flow in a variety of directions, so the water looks very interesting. It was nice to just sit and watch the water, very soothing and pleasant. You can see, but not walk to, the light house, FYI. The drive to Cattle Point is...More
