The museum is big and beautiful!! We had a great time enjoying all the art work. A nice respite from the hot Texas sun. An asset to the community. And it's FREE!!

This is a case of poor leadership not taking a hold of providing quality art of around the area and nation. It's prestation was weak and for the first time art visitor did not assist helping them appreciate the art.

It is not called Museo Alameda anymore. This survey is out of date as the building has been repurposed and is now managed by Texas A&M University.

We hope to visit the museum but the signs on the door indicate it is closed and is now part of the Texas A&M system. It may reopen in the future.

Housed in a bright pink and maragarita lime building, this unique museum is located right at the entrance to El Mercado (the Mexican Market Square). It is bold and arresting (but surprisingly overlooked by most visitors to San Antonio). It is the largest museum dedicated...More

Lovely museum with a nice collection of Mexican art. I enjoyed my visit and will go back next time I am in town to see what special exhibits they have displayed.

Such a beautiful exterior and great mentions in SA travel literature but after a (luckily) short walk from our hotel, found that only the gift shop and small courtyard were open on a very busy Labor Day weekend. A little online research revealed this jewel...More
