Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Haunted Adventure was my husband’s idea. I am a scaredy cat. The little haunted house at our local firehouse on Halloween makes me pee my pants. This Ripley’s haunted adventure was the lamest haunted house I’ve ever been in. Most of the surprises are obviously mechanical. There were two actors there and they were not very enthusiastic about scaring anyone. Total waste of money and an hour of wait time.

My wife and I were the only guests on this Thursday early afternoon on 4/29/21. Our visit was ruined by the 20ish year old woman who met us at the top of the lift. She brought us to the next room and began her monologue while walking around the room. Because of her use of a COVID facemask and given that her face was turned to the side as she talked rapidly we could not understand her story (I have normal hearing). I asked her to stop, speak more slowly and clearly, and face us. She glared at me then began to briefly speak more clearly before resuming her previous movement and unclear speech. She ruined our enjoyment of Ripley's. She should be fired. She clearly had NO interest in guest satisfaction.

We did this as part of a 6 attraction multi pass and I was pleasantly surprised. Most haunted houses don't really scare me but this one got me! I was not expecting the animatronics to jump that far out at me and it really did scare me pretty good. The actors do a great job even though the first guy that introduced us to the haunted house messed up on his lines quite a bit. Overall I had a blast....they even take pictures of you throughout the exhibit that you can purchase at the end. Some of our pictures turned out pretty funny. They would have been better had you been able to see our facial expressions but with covid going around we had to wear a mask. I would love to come back once covid is under control so I can get a better picture.

The haunted house took a few minutes to wonder through the whole thing. We were actually very surprised it was such a quick house

This was part of the package and worthwhile. The effort and details that went into this house is first rate.

I am scared of Disney level horror so it doesn’t take much. It’s about as much as I could handle, but not too scary. My 8 year old says he wouldn’t go again, it was a little fun, and extremely startling to him. All in all, totally ran to get it over with. Waste of money imo.

I took my girlfriend to the 3 attractions included in the San Antonio Attraction Pass and we had a blast.

The Guinness World Record was what you would expect: Walking thru halls and looking at different world records that have been set. There are rooms that are basically themed (gaming, medical, etc.) and the records all follow the theme of the room they are located in. There are some interactive television quizzes, and some random questions on the walls where you spin a slider to answer the question. Nothing amazing or over the top, but interesting nonetheless.

The Ripley Haunted Adventure was the highlight of the package. If you're significant other gets scared from startles or jump scares and enjoys the thrill than this is the place to go! I would say to caution letting young children go in this experience unless you are sure they won't develop nightmares lol... Very well done! My only issue is that a very small few of the live actors were visibly not interested in doing their jobs with enthusiasm.

The Tomb Ride is a neat little distraction, and would have been much cooler if the calibration on the guns you get would have been tuned properly. It could have been that the 3D glasses were messing with my perception, but I couldn't ever seem to get the laser dot to shoot where I wanted to and I'm usually pretty good at compensating for alignment when shooting anything.

I HATE scary stuff but my friends and the staff at Ripleys haunted adventure convinced me to go in. The haunted house features live actors and animatronics. At first it was pretty cool but by the fifth room I was literally shaking and on the verge of tears. I couldn’t even walk into the fifth room ,I ended up tapping out, and one of the live actors took us out immediately. I do not recommend this if you have extreme phobias, can’t deal with strobe lights, or you just absolutely hate scary things. My friends even agreed that this was really scary. However, if you love a good scare make sure and check this place out.

From the moment they put us in the cage-like tram to ascend to the haunted house, we were intrigued. We had a blast creeping our way through the maze of scary surprises and screamed and cursed and cowed and laughed the whole way through. Not one minute disappointed and some of the rooms were even a bit "sick and wrong"...which is why it was so much more awesome. Heck, we even bought a picture which was priced perfectly. I am pretty sure if someone is "afraid," this would freak them out such that they might need therapy. My body was actually sore from the intensity of anticipation. I actually worked up a sweat.
