The museum is on the base, so we told the guard we were going to the museum, so he asked us a few questions and allowed us to proceed to the museum. The museum is free and very interesting! There is a full-size operating room...More

I trained at Ft. Sam 49 years ago, tried to get on base today at Walters Gate and was rudely refused entry. Even though I had requested permission to visit the base museum, which is open to the public, I told the Visitor's Center police...More

The fact that this is still a working base is incredible, as it feels like you’re taking a walk through a history book when you’re on base. Would love to dig deeper and know more, but in my short stay i was so impressed already!

Very nice staff and comfortable quiet place. However, the bathrooms, shower areas, and shower curtains are extremely dirty. I reported it to the office and was told they needed to put in a work order to get it cleaned up. I literally sprayed the entire...More
