My two children, ages 11 and 5, and I visited during spring break. The weather was colder than usual so there weren't too many people there. My 5 year old son had a great time! He loved the train ride the best, even though it was a short ride. There's lots of track waiting to be put together on the... More

We were staying at a hotel near the airport and looking for something to do on a cool drizzly morning. The museum was close by and easy to access via Wurzbach Pkwy. and Wetmore Rd. This is not a slick, high-tech museum; it is a collection of historic vehicles lovingly maintained and shared by volunteers and clubs of enthusiasts. It's... More

I was wasting time while on a flight delay in San Antonio, when I happened on the museum. Even though it was sprinkling, I forked over the $8 to walk around. I thought it was kind of fun, my Grandfather would have loved it (he worked on a mail car).

My child recently moved to San Antonio, work brought me there and as we hadn't seen the kid's new place I suggested my wife join me, so we extended the bsuiness trip into a mini-vacation. On the way to dinner the second night, we saw a sign pointing to the museum and being a train nut the last day before... More

This place is neat but not very big. We just wanted to check it out. If you have an hour to an hour and a half you can see everything and ride the train. It costs $8 per adult to get in. They offer discount to active duty military, retired, and senior citizens. Nice little place to bring kids if... More

This is a fun little place! My kids enjoyed the train ride and getting to see all of the neat rain memorabilia. Could use some updating but staff was friendly and informative!

If you like trains this is a great place to spend a day. Good photographic opportunities off the beaten track.

I have been to many railroad museums around the country. This one had been let go a little bit, but much is being done to get it back to its former glory. Definitely worth a look.

My wife and I had a great time at the Texas Transportation Museum in San Antonio. It's amazing that this was treasure has been there for more than 50 years and ran completely with volunteers.we enjoyed going through the trains. Checking out the model trains and the cool old cars. The kids will love it even if the grown-ups dont.

For the person who likes trains, or the kid who is fascinated. There is something for them both. Prices are a little high, but you could forget about it with the fun you are having.
