Years ago, the Witte was a place where you could just spend a couple of hours on your way to the Zoo or Brackenridge Park. There was a miniature train stop, which was the only highlight. Witte decided to change all of that. The now make sure that they how fresh exhibits. For one, they have a Paleontologist on staff.... More

This was a pretty cool museum. The space exhibit they had the day we were there was really fun. The dinosaur exhibit leaves a lot to be desired. The germs exhibit was interactive and the kids loved it. There was quite a bit to do here. They do need to expand their cafe or add a cafeteria to the museum.... More

Visited with husband and 4 y.o. son who saw all the dinosaur pictures around town. Wasn't sure what to expect because most reviews were prior to the renovations. Have to say we were overwhelmed by the amount to see and do. It's true the dinasour portion is small, but the museum has so much more to offer and is laid... More

I went today to the "new" and recently renovated Witte Museum with my two sons. I was in awe with how exceptionally well done this museum is. The exhibits are very interactive, informative, well-designed and curated. Most of the items in the exhibits allow for hands-on learning. I live in Dallas and love the Perot Museum. After visiting the Witte... More

We went for spring break on a Tuesday and was packed a very long line . But we didn't know it was free Tuesday maybe that's why was so full .Overall the museum has some interesting things and activities for the kids.

We ran across this museum on our Spring Breakntrip to San Antonio. It was a great find. I have a 16 yo and 11 yo that thoroughly enjoyed it. Great historic displays of Texas culture, land, nature, and people. Hands on encounters for you get children. The river area was beautiful. You can take a picnic and make a day... More

Took my four year old son, who is obsessed with dinosaurs and was disappointed with the new exhibit. He still liked the museum, but lost interest quickly with the dinosaurs. It's so small and they had closed the dino lab for campers. We were done with the museum in under an hour. My grandma really enjoyed it, but the rest... More

We visited by chance on the day this museum opened their brand new exhibits. Luckily we got there before lunch because it got really crowded as the day wore on. We enjoyed all the exhibits and this museum has done a great job finding ways to engage children in activities in the little labs throughout the museum. Make sure you... More

We came to the museum only by accident, but we were glad we went. While it is not the American Museum of Natural History, it is an interesting combination of local geology and history that is specific to here. It doesn't require days and days..it can be seen in one long afternoon, yet it is educational, inexpensive, and there are... More
