Visited in August during the week and it wasn't very crowded at all. It's great that it is a closed off street and you can walk from side to side without worrying about traffic. Lots of different stores with a good variety of products. They...More

Right in the middle of many of the historic attractions, this is a nice spot to walk to find something to eat or souvenirs, and to sign up for various tours. There are a few spots under construction, but it is multiple blocks that where...More

We visited out of season and did not confront major crowds. Construction of a PEM addition is on going along the walkway. The many shops are filled with tons of items that celebrate witches and wizards and Halloween related items. Believe I saw a shop...More

Nice to walk around and see the shops and museums along here. Didn't get bored, and the stroll didn't seem long. Just a nice time and place to visit while on vacation.

Good place to go to find some food, authentic materials, or souvenirs. It can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends, but it's usually not too bad. Definitely one of the main hubs of the downtown.

Walking and Exploring the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall is fun. Most of the shops are witch or magic themed. It was quite busy, but that would be expected since it was October. Street performers line the mall dressed as Halloween icons. They pose with you...More

There's lots of places to buy touristy things. I apologize I didn't go into many shops because we had our dog. I can say having been there in both October and May that you'll probably have better luck the closer to mid... More
