Traveling with a dog, we look for outdoor activities. Walking around Pickering Wharf was ideal. Please know you're on the waterfront and it can get chilly and breezy!

This complex was developed in 1977 and named after the oil company that owned the property previously. The stores have struggled in the past but it's now a great place to spend an hour or two window shopping, pick up a few trinkets and souvenirs, walk the pier, see a house boat, and get a bite to eat. Many good... More

Spent a long Easter weekend in Salem and returned to Pickering Wharf 4 days in a row! Restaurants, shops (loved Salem Spice Company) and the wharf itself. . . .a pleasure to walk around!

The ship wasn't there and there wasn't a sign I could see that explained why. The area surrounding it had shops that were boring and deserted whichoat might find a good thing. I took it as no one was interested. This is one you can skip besides getting awesome pics of water.

Pickering Wharf has consistently reinvented itself over the years, always providing a fresh array of shops, restaurants and sites. Great walking areas, views of the water and boats and a nice safe, relaxed atmosphere. All types of food and budgets can be found here. Whether for a quick bit, a fried seafood lunch or a more elegant dinner, the Wharf... More

This is an area filled with eclectic little shops and multiple restaurants and pubs. We visited in early April so some of the shops were just preparing for their season. The boat tours that you can book are not available until the summer so keep that in mind when planning your trip. It is also quite brisk in April so... More

We were in Salem during March, so the big ship wasn't there to see. The wharf is a nice place to take an after dinner walk, but nothing incredible. Makes for some nice pictures though!

I highly recommend upon visiting Salem to stop at the ward. Many shops and great places to eat overlooking the warm area.

A bunch of shops and restaurants. A nice place to poke around, even for locals. Crowded and fun during the summer.
