Last Friday night I went with a friend of mine to the Salem Theatre Co. to see a play called "The Thing on the Doorstep". I was riveting from beginning to end! It's a small theatre, but, the performance was colossal! 5 actors, all amazing! But, I do have to get kudos to the two male leads. Enormous talents! Andy... More

I saw the STCs production of "the Crucible" on October 10, 2013 and I was BLOWN AWAY!!! Growing up in LA and being exposed to LOTS of theater performed by world famous actors throughout my life, I entered the small STC theater (only 2 rows, with the first row being just inches away from the actors!) with guarded expectations. I... More

So cool! Actually went here on a second date, and it happened to also be her birthday but we had an awesome time seeing Reckless. The theater itself is pretty small, but it makes it that much better because you are literally 15 feet away from the stage from the back row. Great spot, and so many restaurants around to... More

Salem is a small and upcoming town. It's unusual for a town this size to have a theater company. But Salem has one. I've been several of their shows. The talent is local. Like any local theater company, there were some things that I liked more than others. But Salem Theatre Company is pretty darned consistent. I like the more... More

We have been going to the STC for 2 years and became subscribers this year. Haven't had a bad show yet! It is a very small venue so you are always close to the stage. Most shows have anywhere from 2 to 6 players but they are all very professional. Scenic design and lighting is superb. It is a theatre... More

It’s ain’t easy to surprise this sometimes jaded theatre veteran. Yet last night I had the pleasure to be amidst an audience that sat in stunned silence at the close of a preview performance at Salem Theatre Company. Literally, no one moved! Then ever so slowly we turned to look at each shaking our heads in disbelief. Jeffrey Hatcher's "A... More

We went to see the current play "AN EMPTY PLATE IN THE CAFE DU GRAND BOEUF" We enjoyed it thoroughly. Great cast. Better than most regional theater. We'd seen another play there about a year ago (Rounding Third, I think it was called.) We enjoyed that as well. Also the current 1 minute Christmas Carol, a take off on the... More

We went to see The Woman in Black over the Columbus Day weekend and enjoyed it very much. Although it only had two actors, they had a wonderful range of expressions and did a very good job conveying the different emotions of the story. We'd never been to the theatre before and were pleasantly surprised by the intimate setting. Due... More
