Talk a walk around 17th and Meyer - such a variety of colored buildings. Go on a Sunday so you can walk through the open houses.

The Barrio Historic District has a few attractive buildings and some historical significance but on the whole is a bit of a run down neighbourhood. It was worth strolling around - just - for a half-hour or so.

This is an area that you will either drive or walk through. Some reviewers were upset that there's nothing to do, no signs for anything - people live here. It's a neighborhood, thus the name "barrio"... Be prepared to take lots of pictures! The character...More

Was really looking forward to the buildings and history but didn't feel like the area was promoted. No signs for specific buildings or areas to check out.

There is street parking available all over the neighborhood. I would drive a few blocks and park where you think you'd like to get a closer look. Then go a few more blocks and park again.
