We drove from Tucson to Mt Lemmon on our last day in town, thinking it would be a nice way to fill a few hours before our flight back home. It wasn't just nice, it was amazing and we will definitely do it again when we are able to spend more time appreciating the truly spectacular natural beauty. Everyone should... More

It snowed up on Mt. Lemmon and we decided to take advantage of a day trip up the Summit. And it was fun! Lots of people wanting to do the same thing we did: See and Play in the Snow!! It is such a wonderful little retreat, and other people have the same ideas so it was packed. But Mt.... More

23 miles of winding roads with panoramic views! We're from N.H. and have the Kancamagus Highway which is beautiful, but these 8,000 ft. views are spectacular. There are rest areas and campgrounds on the way as well as lots of pullovers and scenic views. Beware of bicyclists as we encountered many on the way up and down. Near the top... More

Nice drive up and down and around. Many curves and different scenic stopping points along the way. Once at the top, we always eat at the lodge across from the ski area. Good food, good service. Not to much to do once at the top unless you are going to ski. they do have camp grounds and picnic areas.

We used the Arizona University app it was great! We stopped a lot for the views, picnic lunch and just watch the sunset. Great day trip!

So pretty in the Fall time & pretty winding road with a restaurant to stop at & pick up some delicious fudge or stop along the way to have a family picnic

Worth every bit of the effort to get there. A road of wonders at every turn. Not much in Summerhaven, but the journey is everything.

If you want to get out of town for the day in the heat of Tucson summer, this is the place to go. A very scenic drive from Tucson and very refreshing when you get up there.
