Fun and beautiful drive. You travel from the desert floor up through the Saguaro Cacti into Pines at the top. It’s a little over 8,000 feet elevation. Some people may have problems with such a quick change in elevation. A number of pull outs allow...More

Lovely way to spend an afternoon while visiting Tucson. The trip takes you from a desert climate to a nearly Alpine climate in less than an hour.

a view filled and interesting drive and a great contrast to the flat expanses below. .. about half way up the hoodoos are of particular interest worth a stop.

Take about 3-4 hours to enjoy the drive and to get out and walk around the many pull-offs and parks. Beautiful.

This drive to Mt. Lemmon was a highlight of our trip to Tucson. This drive should be in everyone's to do list when in the area . We saw a lot of cyclists making the trek up the mount, really amazing.

I took my eldest son up to Mt. Lemmon. We stopped for a,bite to eat at the Saw Mill Inn. A great time to make memories and truly enjoy the environment.

Excellent drive up this mountain. Be aware however it is quite long - about 45 minutes drive from the entrance, and the entrance is quite a way from Tucson. The road is winding and this together with speed limits (which are enforced) mean that you...More

This scenic byway has absolutely stunning scenes and pull-offs to park and take pictures. If it's 100º F in Tucson, it's 70º F on Mt. Lemon at 9,000 feet elevation.

Yes, there is snow on top. The status of the Catalina Highway can change at any time. To get the most up-to-date information, call the Pima County Sheriff's Department road closure hotline at 520-547-7510.

I have seen many motorhomes make the trip up the mountain. The road is blacktopped all the way up and always in good repair. The grade is not too steep for your vehicle. For off-roaders, there is a trail down the back of... More
