Veronica (& Ginger) were our guides for a 4 hour ride at 8:00 am. The staff was helpful and paired us up with horses that worked great for me (a novice) and my husband (very tall). We were fortunate that the other couple that had booked that tour had cancelled, so it was just the two of us and our... More

Location easy to find, parking ample however, at the end of trail riding season, it was clear the staff and horses were "tired" of the tourists. Trail was steep in some places, which was expected, however several horses in our group had some trouble navigating the rocks in the pathways more than once. Guide was good, offering some history, we... More

We're disappointed you weren't more impressed with your visit. You should always be able to expect friendly, professional service from us, no matter how late in the season. We apologize that wasn't the case. We're surprised to hear, however, about the litter -- we have pretty strict cleaning protocol, but we'll absolutely follow up with the team. We hope you'll... We went on the two hour ride with eight riders and the guide. It was a very average experience and your typical "nose to butt" ride. Our guide did give some information about the area. The trail we were on was covered with the large brush piles of beetle kill pine waiting to be burned this winter. That certainly isn't... More

Lainey, we're disappointed you weren't more impressed with the ride. We apologize the view was affected by the National Park's brush piles, but we hope you'll give us another shot in the future. Perhaps you'd enjoy a ride geared more toward experienced riders! Thanks for your feedback. Best, SK Horses Team More

My husband and I have done many trail rides on our travels throughout the US and Canada and we were so pleased that Ashley was there to guide us though the Rocky Mountains! Her knowledge and enthusiasm far surpasses any wrangler we ever had! After 4 hours on horseback we wanted to adopt her!

Signed up for the 4hr morning trail ride and it was amazing! The horses were well cared for and very well behaved. It was a great, unique way to cover a lot of ground in the park - one of the highlights of riding in the fall was hearing the elk bugle and seeing them up close and personal on... More

Ariel was our guide, and did a great job both with commentary and with monitoring all the riders and their horses as we rode. The scenery was beautiful, including the grazing elk who watched us ride by. She gave us a great recommendation for the hike to Bierstadt Lake, from the Bierstadt Lake trailhead. We had spectacular views throughout the... More

We visited the stables after business stuff in Denver. We opted for a two hour ride and it was absolutely a beautiful day. Our guide, Melanie, was very concerned that both horses and riders were comfortable....and she succeeded. She was very knowledgeable regarding interesting facts about the history of the park. It is important for me to know the horses... More

My wife and I recently spent a week vacationing in Estes Park and decided to give horseback riding with Gateway Stables a try. We decided on the four hour ride....Our guide was a young women who was less than impressive in respect to what the clients would want to take home from the experience. She was more concerned with getting... More
