Wow! Samples galore. Stop here to try a few free samples and get a few bags. All Hawaiian grown, and a great variety of flavored nuts. If you can stop by during the week and you can see the processing in real time. Great stop, definitely recommend. Prices here much better than touristy shops and airport.

This was a great stop! We got to see the equipment (sadly not running) for making delicious macadamia nut treat AND we got to sample lots of flavors of macadamia nuts, including Spam!! Our kids each selected their favorite flavor to take back & share a 'taste of Hawaii' with their classes! The "turtle egg" chocolates were my personal favorite... More

The sampling is unlimited with a very large selection of macadamia flavors from Jalapeño to glazed coconut, wasabi, chocolate-covered, etc. There are also rum cakes, boxes of candy, soaps, candles, coffee and a self-guided factory tour (We arrived past operation hours.). This was a good place for purchasing gifts to take home. Another option: if you are a Costco member,... More

This stop would be a great add-on if you are going to be in the area. After a beautiful drive, you are treated to free samples of all their products and coffee, and of course you can purchase some too. The self-guided factory tour was engaging for our 4-year old who was fascinated by the machinery and explanations of how... More

My husband has wanted to go here for a while. We, the rest of the family were not interested until we walked in the door. The samples were flowing, the people were so nice and the options were amazing! So many ways to make a macadamia nut taste better...if that is even possible. Try them all but if you are... More

My second fun and pleasant visit to this small homely and charming macadamia nut factory. Never been to Mauna Loa's operation but I very much enjoy the smaller more quaint operation with staff that make you feel at home. A broad selection of both savour and sweet flavours of macadamia nuts in cans/pouches/bags will be found complete with samples (that... More

This factory is off the beaten path and the surroundings are very industrial but once you step inside, it's a macadamia nut paradise. They offer water and coffee complimentary and have every variation of flavoring you could imagine (yes, even SPAM flavored nuts). Not only do they have reasonably priced nuts, but they also let you crack your own macadamia... More

We arrived early and there weren't any other cars. We thought they weren't open and were deciding where else to go, when one of the clerks came out and waved us in. They have samples of all of their fantastic flavors. There are viewing windows of the factory equipment. We bought a lot of nuts to bring home to family.... More

They have all kinds of flavors! We bought the Kona coffee crunch nuts and the wasabi flavor. Tons of free samples of nuts and coffee! They have a lot of gift packages available and they ship to the mainland! Great stop only takes a few minutes.

We added this on to our semi-annual trek to Bamboo restaurant in Hawi up the road 20 minutes further from the Kohala resort area where we started. We arrived in the last 30 minutes it was open on Christmas eve. We did not expect the production line to be active at that time and it wasn't. There were signs describing... More
