About
Bay View Farm offers 30 minute guided tours which take the visitor through the plantation, the production facility, the drying and weighing area and the roasting facility. The local guides, now the third generation, all grew up working on the farm. Free tasting of the coffee takes place at the beautiful visitors’ center and gift store. Guest are advised to wear comfortable flat shoes and that since the farm is elevated above sea level, it can be a little cool in the afternoon and a light sweater or similar may be a good idea. Bathrooms: Pristine bathrooms with wheelchair accessible toilets. Covered Pavilion may be leased hourly for up to 30 guests to enjoy in-house or outside catering. Bay View Farm owes its exclusive tastes to hard work, persistency and the never ending desire to produce the most powerful yet pleasant coffee. The farm produces four principal flavors of Light, Medium, Dark and Decaffeinated 100% Kona coffees, ground or whole bean.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited for the second tine September7,2022. I returned because of thw hospitality and oh so good coffee. This is a lovely place to slow down and learn more about the Kona coffees, enjoy the great views and relax after visiting the Sanctuary and Painted Church. Take all the time you wish, sample again and shop the well-stocked, local product gift shop. The prices are comparable to others and the location unbeatable.

We stopped at Bay View Farm as a stop on our Wasabi tour. This is a fully operational kona coffee farm. From the plants, to the drying process, you can see it all. They provide a sample of coffee and an opportunity to buy coffee while you are there. Yes, they will grind the coffee for you to the type of brewer you have. Mahalo

Incredible view on the farm.
The road to there is beautiful, lush vegetation.
Incredible to see how they proceed with the preparation of the coffee beans.
The coffee is excellent!! Needless to say I guess...
And do try the banana -macadam nut bread!!

Way off the beaten track, Bay View farm is worth a visit. The clerk showed us the coffee bushes and explained the process of growing and processing Kona coffee, ending with a tasting of awesome coffee, as well as chocolate covered coffee beans. Also had fresh macadamia nuts and lychee. Low key, and in a beautiful setting.

Our tour guide Eva was very cordial and informative. Went beyond educating us the process of growing the coffee bean to the final product. Had the opportunity to see luxurious accommodations they have on the property.

Thanks for the kind words napaendo, we have tried to restore the beauty to the farm that it deserves. The houses are also a nice addition for anybody wanting to experience the island without the tourist feel of downtown.

We just discovered this sop on our drive to Painted Church & it was a wonderful discovery. The Gazebo has just been finished & has coffee tastings, views over the plantation, &telescope set up to view Captain Cook Monument. The fruit stand has excellent fruit for sale from their trees. There were macadamia nuts in a basket beside a cracker & the hostess gave me a baggie & told me to just help myself!!! ( at no cost!!!) Excellent coffee . Lovely stop.. The young lady in charge of the shop was an extremely informative & friendly hostess.

They say sometime the first of the year they should be opening. I noticed they are rebuilding the kiosk now and it looks good! They were working on the deck surrounding the kiosk and have planted new coffee all through the farm. Everyone there was excited about having people back. I am heading back in February and will check it out.

When did Bay View Farm close? I always stopped at Bay View. Over the years I've made 6 trips to Hawaii. I would like to make another trip. I would miss not seeing the mill.

It was a combination of drought and the appearance of a boring beetle that hit the coffee farms very hard. My wife and I visited Bayview and others many times over the years and always made our "take home" purchases from Bayview.
The boring beetle appeared when one producer broke an unwritten rule and imported beans from another country.
