Great personalized tour through the museum from "Bob". It was a quiet day in the museum, being a weekday, but we could tell Bob really enjoyes being a docent, he was very informative and had lots of anitdotes that kept us laughing. Never knew about how balloons were used against the US by the Japanese or the different styles; not... More

We have been to this museum 3 or 4 times - fun, educational, some interactive displays - you will leave knowing some much about the history of balloon flight, the earliest pioneers, the technologies, etc. Also gives you a nudge that Albuquerque might be a fabulous Balloon Fiesta to attend! Nice gift shop, clean restrooms, lovely grounds around museum. That... More

My family (two adults, one teenager) thought this might be boring, but it turned out to be such fun!! There are lot of interactive science exhibits that are easy and educational (it's worth taking the time to do them), and a very nice gift shop. I'd highly recommend this museum!

We know about the annual balloon fiesta that makes the national news every year. However, ballooning goes back hundreds of years and there's plenty of significant research that has been done using balloons. The museum is packed with exhibits that document the history of ballooning and some of the significant events of long distance exploration. Actual equipment displays are the... More

I had no idea of all the history of ballooning. But this museum has it all - from the beginning to present day. The building is LARGE to accommodate the balloons and all the memorabilia.

We lived in New Mexico for a while until our visitors insisted that we go with them to the Balloon Fiesta. Not liking crowds, we had avoided it but to our surprise, it turned out to be one of the most unique and wonderful things we had ever done. There are huge crowds to be sure but they are handled... This is a must for anyone that likes hot air balloons and the excitement of the launch and recovery. Balloons of all shapes and sizes fill the air. Standing near them as the fill up and launch is truly awe inspiring. This function is well orchestrated for excitement and safety. Balloons come here from all over to be a part... More

The Anderson- Abruzzo International Balloon Museum is a wonderful tribute to two New Mexico ballooning pioneers. It chronicles the history of ballooning from the late 18th century when it was introduced in France to the current century, where balloon races and other events take place thruout the world. One such venue depicted with posters and pins is the European country... More

Couldn't be in ABQ for the Balloon Fiesta but wanted to learn more about the sport. Good information and displays. Enjoyed the hands on activities. Skip the 4D movie - expected it to be about ballooning but it was a plane/drone? flying around the balloons. Very nice gift shop. Entry fee is minimal but was free on a Sunday morning.

In Albuquerque for the Hot Air Balloon Festival, we had to visit this museum to learn the history of ballooning. The many exhibits and gondolas on display gives viewers a real feel for what it would be like to fly high under a balloon. You have to visit the Tim Anderson 4-D Theater for their film presentations. I really enjoyed... More
