I recommend a daytime trip since the views are so wonderful, esp. between Santa Fe and Abq. You have a choice of quiet car or more noisy co-travelers. It's easy to roll a bike on board so you have a way to get around after you leave the train. There is Wifi but it never seems to work very well.

We took our family and grandchildren on the train to Santa Fe. They loved the tables in the cars with great views of the pueblos and desert. The free shuttle that took us around Santa Fe brought us back to the Rail Runner on time and back home.

Fun, fast, cheap. Nice way to travel. Had lunch in Santa Fe, then came back to Albuquerque. Nice scenery, ride the lower deck and the upper deck to see different views.

A very easy way to get from ABQ to Santa Fe. The staff were very helpful and the price to travel is very cheap. It would be good if the trains had better luggage facilities and more information about how to store luggage. Also the Santa Fe depot is very dark at night when you arrive and the signage is... Ride the New Mexico Rail Runner from Isleta to Santa Fe. You can see more of New Mexico in a more relaxing manner. Kids will get excited riding on the rails.

We love Rail Runner. No, it isn't the fastest north-south way to get around NM, but it is a relaxing way to see the scenery and avoid the highway hassle. Very clean, probably over-patrolled (they have a thing about security that this NY resident finds a bit amusing-constant announcements that would put an airport terminal to shame) and comfortable. One... More

As a native New Mexican, i have traveled from Albuquerque to Santa Fe many, many times. This was incredibly enjoyable and felt like a whole new journey! My kids love it too.

I've been riding the NM Rail Runner for years for both business and pleasure. The train is always very clean and usually on time. The daily tickets are very affordable (as are the annual passes for commuters). There are numerous convenient stations along the entire route with ample parking at most of the stations. It is fun to sometimes just... More

I was going to use the Rail Runner to go up to Santa Fe from Albuquerque to see my son at the Santa Fe market. The Rail Runner last stop is the Santa Fe market so thought this would be great to ride the Rail Runner to save gas and parking fee at the Market. The Rail Runner left a... More

This trip to Santa Fe and back was enjoyable and quick. Scenic route with interesting views of mountain and desert along the route. Santa Fe is artists colony and was very enjoyable and worth day spend shopping and dining at local establishments. The Road Runner train was clean, quick and well managed. Tickets were reasonable and it made for an... More
