Despite its unlikely strip mall next to a Walgreen’s drug store, this museum-with-tour is itself an ABQ gem. We learned (and unlearned) more in 45 minutes than we thought we knew in a lifetime of artisanal shopping trips. Who knew that most stone sold as...More

A must do before shopping for turquoise.. A family owned business, they have great passion for what they do. I enjoyed the tour immensely and feel like I learned a lot which benefitted me as I subsequently shopped in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

Let's just say I dragged my teens there and was quite excited to see how captivated they were with the history and the vast collection. They are still 'educating' me on tidbits they learned during the tour. Love to see family-run establishments and no hard...More

We had a great time at the museum. The collection takes more time to see than my feet could take! There was so much information on turquoise at this little place, it was hard to believe that such a small building holds hours of information.

We were looking for an unusual, yet educational experience, and the Turquoise Museum did not disappoint! We were surprised to hear the reason New Mexico is "known" for turquoise--and it's not the quality or quantity! If you plan to buy turquoise--this place is an absolute...More
